Another part should be modification: on ebay you can buy really cheap pedals. For example this week I bought a Ken-Multi/monarch Distortion for Eur 8,50 plus shipment. This boxes are not so bad. For example the PSK SDS-2, SDS-3 or SDS-5 (seems to be now the roque SDS-5 can be easily be modified to be a Rat. They put in this unit since years a 470 Ohm instead of the 47 Ohm resistor in the...
I have wondered a few times and I guess I will post this.
Has anybody tried modding the behringer compact pedals? I have seen the larger pedals like the vintage distortion pedal and phaser modded but not a single compact like the UM-400 or UM-600 ( I don't remember the true numbers on them just a ball park)
Anyways I really enjoy modding my Boss pedals but it gets a little expensive compared to the proce I could pick up some Behringers for. I have two Dano pedals that I think I will play...
I don't mind (at least, not too much) the fact that the RC-2 has to be powered up for the amp to function, but would like some sort of switch on the pedal to be able to power it up with a foot tap, instead of plugging/unplugging the adapter all the time.
so i've got an sd1 that i really like, except i wish it were more hi-fi/transparent, and i wish i could reduce the mids just a smidge. i know that analogman's silver mod does exactly this, so i was wondering if anyone knows what caps he replaces, and with what kind? i'm pretty sure the silver part of the mod is only cap replacement with high end equivalents.
if no one knows about analogman's mod specifically, anyone know what resistors and caps are in the audio path, and would make the most...
Okay we all should have seen one of these by now. The little cheap pedals for $40 at Hastings and Best Buy, Fender Starcaster. i for some reason bought the ugly orange flanger. but when i plugged it up it sounded amazing to me, but i wanted more sounds. After letting it collect some dust (i'm not a big fan of flange) i decided to crack it open and see what makes it tick. it seems to be an almost complete copy of the boss BF-2, so most mods should work after you find the right parts on the...
I bought it the last week.
It is good for the metal, but you can use it with the gain knob at zero to get a nice drive.
The circuit has three 4885 in such a small space. I think it is well made, but since it is SMD it is difficult to mod.
I would like to just take off some higs: as soon as you wind up the gain a bit you get a lot of high sizzle.
Without smd I would have tried with a resistance (22k ?) in series to the output.
In this case would it have similar results to put a small cap to...
I recently got a really cheap mono flanger (dont know what brand it is.. seems like denio or rockton or Vshock) which doesnt seem to be a boss bf-2 copy or maybe.. but this one has 5 ICs as opposed to the boss bf2 that has 6
the situation is that is sounds like crap! I cant get the jet plane sound after a distortion.. it sounds more like a dying ambulance.
Manual pot doesnt change the sound at all...depth is barely noticeable... rate and res are only noticeable after 3pm......
is there a way to bypass the danelectro fab echo without the huge switching circuit board? i want to rehouse it but the switching circuit is too big to fit in the pedal. there are five wires connecting the delay circuit to the switching circuit. is one input, output, power, and grounds? any help would be grerat
Got this in a trade and like it but was wondering if anyone has any tips on adding a bright switch to this to give it a bit more of that squeezer sparkle when wanted...
I found some scematics for a mod that lets you switch the clipping section between either leds, the original diodes, or a pair of mosfets. If I understand correctly that is.
Anywayz, I'm not 100% where the clipping diodes are located on the pcb.
The guts of my rat look similar to this:
The pic is from a Ruetz mod guide thingy. As you can see in the next pic, which is a gut shot from my own rat, I've cut both R6 and R7. Connected them to toggle switches. As you also may notice, the...
Instead of going through the bother of adding a 12AX7 tube to a Boss OD1 clone i have,
is it possible to add a Fetzer Valve to the mix?
Looked around and there's not too many sites that show where to add the tube expect this place
Going with that and the Fetzer at ROG
Would you add it right after the output of the first half of the opamp?
The OD1 only has a 10k resistor connecting the two halves of the opamp, so would I just replace that with the Fetzer and use the original Volume pot as the...
I think this one called hod rod mod?
bossmt21 (1).gif
wher shoud i replace this mod?the ic1a part?
and the 10k R after the ic1a's out .should it be one or two?if i use the mod, there will be two 10k after it?
Would it be possible to take a cheap tap tempo delay (i.e. Behringer DD600) and separate the tap tempo and subdivision part of the pedal out of the pedal and implement it into another pedal.
I would like to make an external tap tempo pedal with the capabilities of subdivision.
Hey, I just bought a Denio distortion box off ebay which was described as broken. This amounts to a broken case (the pedal doesn't close all the way), and a very badly soldered footswitch...My idea was to completely frankenstein the thing into something like a Rat, but opening it up, I found JRC 4558DDs, so I might try a TS808 (though I'd really like a distortion more than OD)...
Apparently they're DS-1 clones, though not exactly the same obviously (this thing sounds AWFUL)...I've started to...
I bought a couple of stereo 1/4 input jacks to replace the worn out plastic input jack on my ts-9. However after removing it and desoldering the wires on the input side, how can i figure out which one goes to each tab in the stereo input jack. There is a yellow wire comes from the PCB, a black wire from the negative of the battery switch and the other black wire goes to the output jack. How do i connect this properly to the stereo input jack? I have been looking for a guide in the internet but...
Hello folks. I've decided to brave the waters of pedal building and I have also decided that rehousing my dano pedals would be a good place to start. I wan wondering what parts I would need if I simply wanted to rehouse them. The parts that I'm assuming will need to be replaced include:
-Enclosure
-Knobs
-Input/Output jacks
-LED
-Footswitch
-Wires so that I can space the knobs out
Any help is good help and remember, I'm new at this so take it easy on me. Thanks.
Hey Folks,
Just joined the forum, and I am interested in re-housing my Danelectro Rocky Road. I searched for topics on the rocky road in particular, and got very little. Id like to see some finished projects, so I can see some sort of layout, and also what parts were completely replaced. Does not have to be the Rocky Road...lets see em!

I've been looking at schemes and SD1 OD1
I need my OD1 more aggressive with more bass (bass)
looking 5 star keeley mods to SD1 I tried doing the same role for OD1 mod will work?
I'm getting ready to rehouse my Nobels ODR-1 because of the garbage jacks and pots and I'm going to add a footswitchable boost.
I'm a little stumped on the switching though. Is there a momentary switch I could just use or is there a way to get the pedal to be always on and then I can use a 3pdt around it? Many thanks!
I just bought this pedal off of Ebay
And i was wondering how much these pedals change tone when they are off.
If I like its cheapness I might be looking for a TB mod
Here's the guts :
Hi, I've been thinking of trying to integrate an LED into my Voodoo Lab Overdrive. Sadly, I'm not so electronics savy but I've already once modded an SD-1 to custom specs so I'm not really 100% n00b. I've already found the schematics and read about a Millenium bypass which could be used to integrate an LED to the pedal. I don't know if this is any good though. I hope you can help me with this...
Hi all,
I have a Locobox Spaceship Flanger pedal and I'd like to rewire it for true bypass switching using a 3PDT switch. There isn't much info on this pedal, and what I'm trying to figure out is the PC Input and Output wires that would go to the switch.
Does anybody have any experience working with this, ideas or suggestions? :hmmm:
Thanks!

Sometimes I've to use a Bad Monkey (mixer-out into a cheap PA but a reasonable sound when using the guitar-volume-control/etc.) when I can't take my own amp(s) with me, anyone knows where to find the complete schematic or the schematic from the mixer-out-section (speaker-simulated)? I guess this section is also used in some other Digitech-pedals so those would also be an option regarding that circuit.
Many tia!!!
Ps Only one downside regarding the mixer-out, when the overdrive is...
