Effects database entry . My unit is red. The date of this pedal is unknown to me. On the potmeters there are writings that may be date codes (between '75 and '81).......
I got this pedal when I bought some pedals from a friend; it was not fully functional and he knew I love these kind of mysteries. The origin of the pedal is unknown to me. I guess some Russian-like country as all signs are cyrillic. The signs on the outside of the pedal are crossed out so I can't really make it out. On the...
i had one of these, and REALLY dug the fuzz, and had asked if anyone could help me convert the fender fuzz wah circuit to just a fuzz...
gus smalley posted this:
which led to this:
it's even verified... i'd tried a similar layout a while back, but made 2 rookie mistakes.. was missing the 10k resistor going to the + input of the chip, and had b+ going to pin 8, not pin 7. :icon_redface:
so anyways, now it's built and verified.
how's it sound? i REALLY like it. very thick buzzy...
Can anyone identify this vintage effect, which is used on various recordings from the 1960/70s?
Eric Clapton used this gritty, chorusy-Leslie kind of effect on the album 'Blind Faith'. I don't think it is regular flanging.
The song 'Well All Right' has it pretty up front on both lead and chordal guitar. You can also hear it on the guitar, in the track 'In the presence of the Lord'.
Something similar, but not exactly the same, was used on the song 'Badge' by the group Cream .
Did anyone else see my overview of my conversion of a crybaby (1970) into a wah /fuzz using a hand made copy of a fuzz face?
If anyone wants to see it, answer here and i will recover the info. It really sounded sweet, and bright. (favorite setting / toe down).
In the meantime, can someone tell me, what is the significance of the 'lower case' letters on the front of the old crybaby? I also have an inferior-sounding Vox model, from the late 80s. It has capital letters on the name plate. Thanks.
Here's some pics of the Oberheim PFV-1 pedal
Not a guitar pedal, it's main function is sending voltage to a modular control voltage synthesiser.
It has a rate control for speed, an on off switch for connecting the two internal 9 volt batteries,
and another switch under the pedal which I assume is for either switching the modulation off,
or for switching between sine and square wave output
I've never used this pedal, I think I got it with an Oberheim Four-Voice in the 80's
Someone's clipped...
I'm surprised there's not more on this pedal. IMHO, this is the best fuzz/octave circuit out there. I'll add my layout. It's a pretty tight, compact design using board mounted pots and miniature 10uf electrolytics in order to pack it into a board that will fit mounted the long way in a 1590BB. You could probably even stuff it into a B size box if you're ambitious. The asymmetrical layout and wonky position of Q1 were necessary evils because of the board mounted pots and size limitations, but...
Hi,
This is my first post here, and let me just say I am a total noob.
SO here is a noob question.
I got this strange old delay on my hands, made by panasonic in Japan.
Its super heavy, so it must have been expensive.
It wield almost zero results whe I try to google the name of it, so it must be rare, or just totally forgotten,
Anyway, I have a problem with it: The output volume is SUPER weak.
I am currently using it plugged to my tascam multitrack recorder and both line iputs and mic inputs...
Someone on eBay is selling an elektronika (Russian) auto wah and has been kind enough to include a clear factory schematic in the listing:
I'm not good at all on the science of envelope followers but it doesn't look like a mutron (not optical) or ehx (too complicated!) I wonder what it's based on?
Hey guys,
I just realized that I never posted this in here and wanted to know what you think about it circuit-wise?
It's a Holden FuzFaze, out of New Zealand from the mid 70's (1975 I think).
The fuzz part is particularly loud and brutal while the phaser part, which appears to be a Phase 90 clone, can switch into chorus and pitch vibrato!

I've been reading you for some time but this is my first post. Some time ago a friend of mine took me this pedal to see if i can fix the cables. He got it given by a friends's father but the cables were desoldered from the switches. I am also sure that the on7off switch is not original because it does not fit well in its place. I got it working, and i fell in love with it.
It is a Musicson Phase Shifter 90. It is made in Spain in the 70's and it is clearly a mxr phase 90 copy, but with...
Here's a monster of a pedal for you: the Farfisa Repeat/Volume. It's a Repeat Percussion effect with treadle-varied Rate that switches to a Volume pedal. I've had this for quite a while but I think I'm going to Ebay it or something so I figured I'd post some pics for you guys first. I have no schematic just yet but I'll see if I can work one up later today.
I know that there is one post about this in stuff seen for sale(and it is 2 years old), but it would be nice to get this pedal done properly ...just like the DIPTHONIZER......what do you think? :thumbsup
all we need is trace side of PCB....and schematic of thic baby :)
if someone know this man...DRAGONFLY,and if he have this pedal......it would not be problem to make a clone :thumbsup
you KNOW we gotta ressurrect this sumbitch, right?
should be here in a couple days.... stay tuned!!!!
i'm gonna need help and guidance so we can get this right.... it's the sound of led zep's presence, and we need a proper schematic so we can
make a proper DIY project imho.
LONG LIVE FREESTOMPBOXES FOR DA FUCKING MASSES
be here in a couple days. psyched. if i remember correctly, these fuckers ramp. it's been so long since my last one...
There exists a schematic from a later version (the wha-wha-yoy-yoy) with plastic transistors. I am not sure if this schema doesn´t contain some errors.
I have some guts from the unit shown, but not from the solder side.
So if your friend could take a photo of the solder-side the schematic could be verified and maybe adapted to the unit of your friend....
I checked the Yoy Yoy Wha Wha I had lying around, and it is true, the schematic hosted floating around does contain some errors with regard...
Hi , my friend gave me this pedal / desktop unit a few years back .
It is an original prototype before they released the suzz phase models ,
It is about 10 x 7 and has 4 knobs on top
2 knobs for fuzz (overdrive) and 2 for Phaser (depth and speed)
there are two loose wires inside that look as if they should connect to somewhere , they could just be for a battery ?
The phaser works so clean and stark !
But the Fuzz only seems to work on full turn of the knobs and then its way too much ?
I am...
