Multi-Effects Putting two effects in one box almost looks too easy, but you will save a lot of time reading the frequent questions before starting such a project...
hi, does anyone has any diagram for the tonebone clasic for a 3pdt wiring switch??, i need to change the switch but i cant find the ins and outs of the fx,.. any help??
hi im just a new in the pedal effects building, and i want to know which is better, for wire a effect, a stranded wire or a solid wire, i want to use 24awg wire, i have solid, cos i cant dinf stranded, but i want to know you experiences
Hello:) Hey sorry if this has been asked and or a dumb question.... I just finished this guy.....
Can someone please tell me or show me the correct way to wire this up to a 3PDT foot switch, jacks, DC jack?? I have a couple wiring diagrams and not sure which one to use. This is my first vero build so I am lost! I'm so use to PCB's. Thanks so much for your help!!!! :D
Just wondered if any one could tell me the difference between these switches? I can see a clear defining difference apart from price and colour... is it how they engage?
Ok. I've done a ton of searching and I can't find an exact answer to my question. I'm working on my own FF layout. I fired it up the other day and it works beautifully, but I have a couple questions about board grounds.
I remember reading something where somebody said that you shouldn't piggyback the grounds together. He said that each ground wire should run to the board, rather than using a ground wire that goes from the board to both jacks, and a ground wire that connects fuzz lug 1 and vol...
Apologies if this topic exists elsewhere - i did a search and came up with nothing.
Question for the seasoned veterans:
What tips and trick do you guys have for getting neat and clean wiring inside your pedals?
I find that as soon as I get into veroboard builds that I have trouble estimating how much wire to use from the board to the pot or switch and the end result looks like a rat's nest of wires.
I designed a circuit for a buffer that sounds really good!
BUT, when it doesn't get the 9DCV, well it obviously sounds bad since it' an active circuit.
How can I bypass the circuit when it has no power getting to it? (without a toggle)
I've run into a spot of trouble and am struggling to find a way to resolve it.
Basically I have a Fuzz War and OCD in one box with a switch to select between circuits and a main bypass switch, the problem occurs when the Fuzz War is selected I get a high pitched oscillation from the OCD (I presume it's the OCD as the oscillation stopped when I pulled the IC out to kill the circuit). The squeal is there albeit quietly when the pedal is bypassed and increases in volume considerably...
I have an old fashioned 3PDT style bypass strip that I've used for years, and it has come to the point where the pops are actually causing damage. My delay pedal (Boss DD3) get fizzy and low volume when activated. I suspect that the pop from the switching causes enough current to really muk things up on the input of the delay. After switching the DD3 on and off a few times it goes away.
So I got to thinking, is it possible to have a bypass system built specifically for delays that will not...
Long time lurker and my experience is pretty small (built one amp and no pedals).
Short version:
I would like to rehouse/mod my pedal with a footswitch to switch between 2 gain and volume pots on my pedal. I have sketched the problem here. I would also like/need an indicator LED to light up when the 2nd set of pots was engaged.
When I think about it, I run out of connections pretty rapidly as I would do it the longwinded way of taking each of the connections from the board to the...
I'm kicking around the idea of building a single box that contains three different stomp box boards (fuzz face clone, Brian May-style treble booster and the Really Cheap Compressor). I've done each of these separately and put them into their own boxes with their own level controls on the outputs. If I put them in series (output of fuzz face into the input of the treble booster, for example), should I put in a level control after the fuzz face or run it at full volume? My idea was to set up a...
I have a Dan electro milkshake pedal. I put a potentiometer and switch in it and when I activated the switch I could alter the circuit bending with the potentiometer and the pedals knobs. When I turned the switch off the pedal would operate the way it was supposed to. I removed the circuit bend wiring and the switch I used for another project. Now I want to put the circuit bend back in the milkshake pedal. When I to do this, the switch for some reason would not shut off that portion of the...
As the title describes, I'd like to wire two pedals into the same box but have a master bypass switch so that if they're both on, or singularly on, I can hit it and both will be disengaged.
I've found master bypass wiring in loop switchers but not for two effect circuits. Would it be similar to the bypass loopers? Ground to ground, in and out jack connections on the master bypass switch? I am lost and trying to work this out on paper is driving me mad.
Ok, so for my next build I wanted to do a take a jab at 2 boosts in a single enclosure. I wanted to put the 'simplified Klon' with the red rooster able to switch independently. Klon Wiring.png RedRooster.png Now I've seen diagrams for wiring like this with true bypass, but I'm at a bit of a loss because of the Klon's buffered wiring and such. Now I realize for starters, that I believe a wire should run from input to a middle lug on the switch, but other than that I have no idea how I would go...
I recently stumbled upon a video on YouTube where a gentleman modded and switched the housing adding a fourth knob that manipulates the trim pot inside and of course switching the button over to a raised singular EHX style button,Can anyone help me attempt this or tell me the materials I would need I am new at this and I figure this would be a good place to start.I already know what size housing i need and I plan on doing the drilling myself.
Hello - Looking for some help w/ a re-housing... the VS Open Road has an inconvenient size/shape (for me) & I ran into a problem trying to re-house it. The switch has to be pushed twice to activate the effect. Thanks for any help.
hi guys. i'm ready to build some stuff again, and this question pops up in my head.
what's the difference in sound between a capacitor selector and a capacitor divider made with a potentiometer?
when is it preferable to use a capacitor selector?
what's best in a circuit like the fuzz face? or a range master?
The setup:
i am currently putting together parts to make up a midi controller pedal based on using a basyn midi kit circuit.
the way the circuit is set up basically you can activate 13 different midi notes that i am thinking can be increased by jumpering one of the midi channel jumpers using dpdt switching at the same time as activating each note in order to create the note in a different channel; thereby creating the possibility of a number of additional switches.
this is not a problem for...
i'm working on a morley wah from the 90's. i put a good 3dpt switch in to replace the original switch and it works great, but i was wanting to put a switch on the foot pedal itself in addition to the normal switch on the side. i purchased a momentary 3dpt switch and if it were not so tall i could make it work. the idea is to be able to turn the switch on the side on and be able to leave the pedal on (i have some songs where i play in that state) or off, but i was also wanting to be able to step...
