I'm kind of hoping this is a copy of the old MXR flanger!

Are the BBDs Cool Audios? Be careful with the switch wiring : these are likely to break...

Those Bucket Brigade chips don't look like Cool Audio chips. Are they sanded or just old?

I suspect using some Boss and Ibanez schems will give easier reference for quick tracing. Definitely an mn like BBD-Driver combo. Since it's from Tsjai-Nah it might be Bellings in which case a BL3207 is the BBD choice. not a BL3208. Way to long for flanging.

Rather cynical isn't it? The greatest copycat nation, China, doing sanding to avoid copycats :applause:

I knew I should've written down what they were, but assumed that cos I could read them the photo would capture that too...
...but it didn't :slap:
I don't think they're sanded.. maybe a black vivid marker on them? but still legible in daylight

they were CD(something) IIRC... which I thought was odd.. will pull it apart today again (cancelled practice cos I'm far too hungover  ) and note what they are.

how do I tell if they're panasonic? or was that some sort of ironic humour and not important?

added pic with values of caps and semiconductors.
coudn't read the diodes and don't really wanna desolder it if I don't need to (my soldering work desk is put away at the moment)... is it important enough information to do that, or can some smarter type people make the call as to what they are?

Or maybe they are just copying American boutqiuers who sand the chips?

Hey guys,

Pay attention that this pcb have a ground plane at both sides in the area remanent of those that is occupied by the connecting tracks, pads, etc.

This is done in order to reduce noise and parasitic couplings when the unit is running.

Also the manufacturer of the boards prolong the life of the etching solution as there is less copper to take away, so the cost of each boards will be cheaper.

Rocklander, my best guess is that J. Wong hasnĀ“t put any novel solution in this design (perhaps true bypass?), so as Dirk suggest try to compare against the classic designs of Boss and Ibanez flangers.

May be risky to try unsolder any component due the posibility to damage on any thru hole.

Cheers,
Jose

The Ibanez FL9 schematic should do the trick.

so has there been a verdict on what this pedal has been cloned or based on?

Can't say what this is a clone of but it replaced an EVH mxr flanger on my board. There was no comparison, My mxr is noisey as all hell and the joyo is not. Sounds exactly the same IMO but with very little noise. The paintjob has got to go though!

I played it back to back with my EVH and the EVH will likely be going down the road. They sound so close that I have to say it's a sonic clone if not a circuit clone. Very decent box for a remarkably small price (got it for a 4 for $34 each deal). The only problem is that I think they're phasing out (not flanging out) the metal box pedals in favor of the lumpy plastic ones...

I have tried almost all the joyo pedals. None are noisy. NONE.
