Talk about one NASTY fuzz :!: - I have been fixating on that (rare) Jen (Elettronica) Fuzz & Sustain that D.A.M.'s forum has shown & discussed.

It seems like a comparator type setup, only one using an unusual chip: the UA757DC automatic gain control shown in the gutshots. The results are mule kicking slamfuzz, tho.

Has anyone fully traced & posted the schematic yet?

I haven't breaded that Octave Up Sickbox yet - the one that makes use of a 4070 chip as a comparator-type squarewaver - but it still sounds to me like the Jen F&S gets the raw, mountaintop-chop fuzz chord award.

I can understand how anyone who has one of these would'nt readily part with it

Here is the link to the DAM thread.

There are some good pics but I really am terrible at tracing circuit like this. Hope someone can do it though!

Pics of board attached for posterity. Mods can delete this if reposting pics from other forums isn't kosher.

Hi Sinner,

Regarding this image:
Image

Bear in mind that the variable gain IC we seen in this photo is already discontinued. So when the unit were completely traced, there is an extra amount of work to find an actual replacement.

But, what the heck, this can be interesting to do.

The datasheet of this rare chip are on this link: http://www.datasheetarchive.com/UA757DC-datasheet.html

Cheers,
Jose

Hmmmm ....12.99 GBPs? Well, if someone comes up with a full & accurate schematic, I'd certainly consider buying that chip.
