Pedal excellent for hi gain but also (with gain lower settings) perfect for rock and blues.

Looks to be solidly constructed and interesting it includes and inductor.

thanks!

Great work on the schematic, thank you. But I don't see S2, which switches the three gyrator tone shapers in and out in the original design. Is this your modification?

S2 is internal EQ boost/cut switch, on pcb picture placed at bottom left side.

Like the approach with the fixed gyrator EQ!

For SMD DIY-ers here is my design of pcb. Resistors and capacitors are 1206
package and C (6mm) for tatntalum capacitors. The pcb is suitable for those who
will not install additional EQ boost/cut components on the bottom side but if you wish to add EQ,
both sides are connected with 4 via holes. Of course tantalum capacitors in the picture are not SMD tantalum,
currently I did not had SMD type.
Pdf file contains top and bottom side of SMD Throttle Box. 8)

Question. Look at the picture.

Yes, that is the switch S2, which is located inside the housing. Pedal has enough gain at Lo position so
in my opinion it would be more useful if the switch was mounted out enclosure instead of switches for gain.
On my SMD PCB I predicted one switch in/out EQ mounted on the chassis and perhaps to add one more on/off switch to turn off gyrator for 276Hz.

Yes and it has function only in bypass mode.

I just sim'd the graphic EQ portion and unless I messed up it didn't equate to much more than a bass boost.

The mid control is nice though!

this is amazing, is it posible for you to upload a layout for a board with thru hole parts or a schematic file readable by a program?
i would really like to try building this one.
thanks :)

OK here is pcb done in through-hole technology, like original. There are two pcb's,
first with almost all components and second with jacks, pots and few components.
Pedal has very originally sounds and I change my prejudice about Mesa pedals. 8)
