Shredmaster versions

Hi All
The first Shredmaster schematics circulating years ago , showed an inverting configuration of the third opamp (just after the tone stack).
Afterward original Marshall schematics were exclusively showing a non-inverting configuration for that opamp.
Pls. if someone knows:
Were those first schematics simply wrong, i.e. Marshall never produced a version of the SM w/inverting stage?
Is it known whether Marshall implemented different schematics during production?
