I recently modified a friend's Boss DS-1 by implementing the "seeying eye" and "ultra" mod. A change/improvement is noticeable, both mods work in general. The only annoying thing is some kind of pre-compression or whatever, this means the sound is slightly decreased in gain/volume for a moment after hitting the strings, then it turns back to the expected sound. This effect turns out stronger with higher-output pickups.
I double-checked the changes and the components, everything looks fine - trying to find something similar in the net I read about this behaviour at other users, too.
Any idea what this could be? Maybe even a problem of the modification itself (increase of gain, more low-frequency content)?
