Does anyone know of any mods for the Behringer V-Tone BD121 ? :| ...I picked one up dirt cheap, and would like to mod it.
It sounds okay, but the drive control doesn't seem to give it enough distortion (for my taste), and the presence control just seems to brighten it up a little bit, but doesn't really add much "presence" IMO :? . Any ideas would be taken into consideration...it's just too bland sounding to my ears. Thanx, in advance  .

is it surface mount or through hole? Is it using op amps or transistors? Its easy to increase gain just change the resistors that adjust the gain for op amps thats rf / ri if you can look more into it or a schematic or a trace i can tell you what ones to change.

Isn't this pedal very similar to this one?

Easy enough to up the gain a bit.

A bit more difficult as you first have to define what you perceive 'presence' to be, frequencies to boost and by how much etc.

yeah well that was why i was hoping he would trace that unit that way we gain with a schematic for a new pedal and he gains with mods for it.

I agree but a schematic of this size is pretty ambitious, especially if he has never traced anything before.

Good gut shots would be very nice!

hows it going to hurt him to trace it. It's not that bad. if it's not a fuzz or a distortion its hard thats crap it will be a good experience for him.
