Just scored a new Aria Overdrive OD-10 (NOT one of the Japanese one from the 1980's) on Fleabay and wondered if it would be possible to convert to true bypass.
On opening it up I've found that it already has a six pin footswitch soldered into it's own PCB. However, I'm damn certain this is not wired for true bypass as it obviously tone sucks.
Shame as beyond that it's quite a usable TS style thing with the added enhancement of a Clean control which mixes the clean signal in with the overdriven one. When full up this cancels out the gain control entirely and so acts as a clean boost.
Has a much fuller low end than any TS, 808, Converted SD, or TS clone that I have ever tried and seems to escape that mid hump quite nicely.
I wonder if anyone else out there has encountered this pedal and managed to chop it to true bypass?
Judging by the fact that it's already utilising a six pole switch maybe this isn't possible...
Any ideas?
I can post some more jpgs in a day or two if that helps?
Thanks

My result is nine pins - but unfortunately I can´t count.

Is there any chance for (a) picture(s) of the component side ?

You can count, and I am, of course, a total dumbass ;-)
Yep, you got me, it's a nine pin.
I'll tear it apart after my fish fingers and mash and uploaded some more pics

My result is exactly the same. Fortunately I do have the capability to refrain from snide remarks.

Question for the TS is to verify wether or not this pedal is not TB already.
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

Hi Dirk,
Judging by treble loss when the pedal is in line but switched off I'd guess it's not TB. But then again, I do have a terrible head cold so presently I have all round treble loss anyway...

So, no more ideas on this one then, anyone?
I'm pretty certain that it's not true bypass despite the NINE pin switch. Definitely a slightly quieter and muddier signal with it in-line....
Unfortunately, though I can swap out components etc I am not an electronics person so schematics/circuit diagrams and remove the 47k resistor mean nowt to me.
So if anyone does think of a fix I'll need a jpg or drawing to find my way around...
Any help gratefully accepted....

Locate the jack input. Follow the track from the tip connector pad to the switch. It must be straight with no link to any other component. In OFF position, you can check the outut path from the switch to the output jack tip, still with no other components involved.

I can't do this from your pics because of the yellow/green wire that covers the tracks...
- Are you a mod or a rocker?
- Uh, no, I'm a mocker.

Never looked that far yet.
But it seems flux remover is banned at Aria's pedal manufacturer :blackeye

It is infact a Sparkledrive clone !
I dont know if there's a schematic here But,it's not hard to find.
