Forget about your dream about a "Clyde McCoy Picture Wah"....

Here it is, the chance for the real Wah-Freak, the ultimative unique sound from the: Inta - Wah. Made in Russia in Kazan in 1969.

Sadly no guts, but Geoofrey what´s your opinion: can it compete with a RMC Wah ?

People with enough money in their pocket can buy it here:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INTA-Vintage-WAH- ... dZViewItem

....AND POST SOME GUT SHOTS !!!!

Russian technology of this period was heavy duty..... made to withstand several atomic wars.
As you can see the jacks are not original, russian musicians normally used DIN-connectors ....

That thing must be filled with the very best unobtanium! Somebody here, buy it. Don't make AG and me beg...

That you get an imprsssion about what I am talking:

This is not japanese-, grandlaughs- or Vzex-junk, these are the guts of 70´s transistor-radios made in russia:

VEF-201, made in 1971:
http://oldradio.cqham.ru/70s/vefin.jpg

an amazing transistor-tomb.... so many fuzz-faces and tomb-enders inside... in silver or in black....

Zorka, made in 1976:

Merlin-210, from 1978:

I'm just wondering about the role for this weapon, I can see Russian conscript Hendrixes with snow on their Wah Wah boots. Gosh knows what is inside, a BYOC pcb, an SA-7 IR sensor, East German refugees, or just air.
I see they used a hammer and sickle to install the jacks.

Don't forget you can still get NEW germanium transistors from Russia and other former soviet republics (eastern Europe etc.) quite cheap.

(EDIT: ...but unobtainium is not for sale anymore! )

Not to derail this fine thread, but my brother says they make Ge xistors at Intel. They control it's "growth" in order to achieve a desired effect from their high tech memory. I'll ask him to describe it in further detail when he returns this week.

I HAD ONE OF THOSE! I was 14 and lived in USSR then. :)
The circuit is a colorsound inductor-less derivative built around a Germanium transistor. 3pin DIN output jack and a 5 pin DIN input with pins 2 and 4 switching the battery.

Cool. No one had to spend cash and AG & I didn't have to beg.

We could not beg anybody sincew the pedal hasn´t been sold ..... maybe because no gut shots were presented.

And another thing..... when will you release the RMC Geranium Wah that there can be made a direct comparision ?

Yes and.... you should contact the case manufacturer about supplies in case of your normal support fails.....

And believe me: DIN-Sockets will become the future standard of boutique pedals - after I will have created some mojo around it at TGP.

Hey, we are not talking about Mini-DIN, we are talking about the real thing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIN_connector

On the right you can see the flange-socket which was originally used in the wah:

Mucho fun stuff there!:D

I'll pass on the Ge stuff all the way around. I don't know of a Ge transistor manufacturer so I couldn't pass RoHS testing.

I'll wait for your mojo work to do a DIN connector piece. Might be a tough sell.

Heh- so you have to use MIDI cable(almost) for audio... interesting. Seems to me there could be some interesting and unusual snake-like routing possibilities... stereo, dry/wet signal, send & return, digital and analog signals simultaneously...

That site with the Russian effects- Wow! Were they really that bad?

Slightly OT, but I've been wanting to get my hands on one of those oddball Soviet bass guitars... I would just gut the innards and install new pots and output jack(I gutted my Rick and wired it like a BASS instead of that horrible Rick-O-Stereo crap and guitar-valued caps for tone. Huge improvement!), I already know to expect the pots to be horrible, and the DIN out to be basically useless anyway. But, those thin necks remind me of a Hag, the weird pickups suggest interesting tone(but can be replaced easily if they're crap), and the oddball shapes are very appealing to me...

Thanks for the link !!!!
Really cool.... now I can start my own bootweak-business

You know bootweakers rule #1:
"Remove the piss from the shit and box it for sale...." (or was it something similar ?)

So I only have to "remove the piss" (fix the failures) ane "box it" (swirl paint them).

this will be my first pedal, something you´ve never heard or seen before -
A GERMANIUM BOOOSTER/FUZZ BOX:
http://www.meatexz.com/cheesyguitars/ef ... oster.html

Since I have nothing to hide, here is the schematic:
http://www.meatexz.com/cheesyguitars/ef ... scheme.jpg

Guts are unavailable since I couldn´t apply the mojo-goop yet.

But here are guts from another unit:
http://www.meatexz.com/cheesyguitars/ef ... ah/i-5.jpg

They are from the Fuzz-Wah-Vibrato you can see here:
http://www.meatexz.com/cheesyguitars/ef ... zzwah.html

Have a look at the wiring and compare it with this typical piece of american messy-bootweakers-crap (from "Lenahan"):
http://i10.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/cb/af/426d_3.JPG

and you will know that this is another "tank-resistant-kalaschnikov-approved" piece of high-tech....

enjoy,
analogguru

We used to build our own stuff into those enclosures as far back as late eighties/early nineties. And I owned THIS guitar! :D

In the 80´s I was working for a distributor of Fender-guitars.
We also had east-german strat-copies for sale. The copies were so exact that the spare parts (e.g. pickguard) could be used as spare-parts on original fender-guitars. Do you think that this would ever have been done ?

Hi guys, this is my first post on this forum, I hope will forgive me bad English.

"Anta", "Anita", "Inta" - these pedals made in Latvia, the Riga plant semiconductors. During the sixties and seventies.
Scheme, as it seems to me, like a "Maestro Boomerang". Inductor has the same options as the coil of Vox Wah. KT349 silicon p-n-p transistor.

Real photo "Anita" FUZZ-WAH with:

"Anta" Fuzz we can look at the Russian forum "Sovietguitars"

Hi Silverdog! Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the great pics! When I saw the schematic I too thought it resembled the Boomerang.
