Yes, you're right. This 100k resistor must run between pin 3 and pin 8, (rotated it 90° in your layout)
Some values are different, but it deppends if you like it or not.

hi,

here is a slightly modified pcb for fun. it's scaled roughly from the pics.

i don't think there's any mistakes, otherwise enjoy.

After some of the responses I have received here and from DiscoFreq, I think I will have to build another one just to preserve the original. :D

It look's good, I think I will etch one this afternoon to check it out. Only suggestion would be to add a couple of pads for a blocking diode on the DC input, a 1n4001 at the input, or if you add them after the 560R (between the 560R and the first 100k) either a 914 or a 4148 would work. :horsey:

Gonna have to see what I can do to produce a layout sheet to go with this and we can submit it to the Ready to Build...

You are missing a trace, from pin 1 of the 4558 to the junction of the 470k and the 50nf cap. Outside of that everything matches the original. :D Of course, without that trace it will be a very quiet pedal.

My Express PCB version, if somebody like it.
Pots on board (or not) 50mm X 28mm so, even can fit in a 1590A
In a .rar, since .pcb it's not alowed  (modman, you promise me!! )

A couple of notes on the above layout. The 50 nf caps may not be available, 47nf should work just fine. On the original the 82pf is a silver mica Sangamo, a ceramic anywhere from that value up to around 150pf should work just fine. (Silver mica in a dirt pedal?) Still have to come up with something that shows connections, unless you did that with yours, Duckman.

You're doing well, go ahead.
I uploaded a new .rar here with both PCB and Schem, because when I traced the PCB, used another part numbers and that can confuse people.
I traced the Fresh Fuzz, just like the one on the pics provided but, just added 1M resistor in the input, you know.

:slap: I knew I forgot something. Wonder if I can finagle the 1M pulldown into the board I just finished. But I did remember the blocking diode. :D

They are some .047uf 50V 5% mylars I got from either Alltronics or the Electronic Goldmine a few months back when I ordered what I thought were greenies. These funky old 60's or 70's beauties came instead  I've been looking for the appropriate project since then for them and this one seemed to be the right one. I really like the plastic case they have on them. BTW, I immediately got 100 Panasonic .047's to use on my "normal" projects so I could save these for something special. 8)

Me too!
By the way, how about solder your 1M resistor directly on the input jack, kinda amp fashioned?
Any way, you got the ground trace near enough to your input, so should not be a problem.
I like the way it sounds per se, but I'm still playing in the breadboard, tunning a bass version.

Duckman: How does it sound with .1uf (ala Blackcat OD) in place of the .047UF's? I still gotta clear the mess off my breadboard, to try this!!
