Ok guys, WTF? it's not the usual thing what we see in JEN fuzz'es, they usually are close to VOX Tone Bender. Here we see 3 si trannies, two diodes, apparently silicon too.

I bloke I know have it up for sell, he just emailed that pict to me and I'm confused

The schematic can throw you off but its basically a buffer into a fuzz face with diode clipping...probably sounds pretty cool

It's very trebly (note the small vol pot), smooth & has decent sustain....

The biggest "flaw" on that schematic for me were the notes below ("2N5088 should work well"). If I used those in all 3 spots, I was getting oscillations, feedback and a bit of harshness. The BC238B has hfe min 200 and BC239C min 420, so I'm guessing it'd be best to follow that pattern rather than dumping 3 high gainers in there...and that's how it wound up.

After a bunch of transistor swapping, I wound up with ones in the 200 hfe range for Q1/2 (PN2222) and ~ 400 in Q3 (2N5088)

Here's my final voltage readings, EBC.
Q1 > 5.96, 6.12, 9.04
Q2 > 0, .58, 1.28
Q3 > .67, 1.28, 4.71

When I built it, I questioned the correctness of Q1's voltages (E,B]. I wasn't sure what I should be getting on an emitter follower.
