Glad someone likes it. It was my first try at doing a website but it turned out OK. Most of the pedals are mine except for the Juggernaut which I don't own one yet and the R2DU but I did aquire one of those after I put the site up but never changed the pic, and of course the pic from the 1st 12 Rats made.

I'm not sure why ProCO started using a Log taper pot on the Filter control but the first issues that use a Linear taper sound much better because you have a lot more usable range.

I'm always up for suggestions or additions.

hey dosmun,

try linking with other RAT sites. Especially those with Schemos... 8)

here are a few that I found while drinking coffee & googling.....

http://happybob.com/rstrand/rat/rat_versions.htm (good links for schemos AND history)

That schematic should be forbidden. Vanish off the surface of the planet. Be ritually burned or whatever. I'll leave it to RG to tell wether he has ever seen a RAT with a FET input buffer*. I haven't ever and I've seen a lot of RAT's over the last couple of years. However the positive feedback in this schematic (the gainn determining components should be connected to pin 2 and not pin 3 of the opamp) is the major definite error.

* Having seen newer versions by RG's hand make me suspect he knows
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

Then you should also blame Jack Orman. He did the corrections. :hmmm:

There are definitely some wrong schems out there, but I think the input buffer thing may be correct. I have a late 80's "LED in A" Rat with TWO transistors + IC, leading me to believe it has an added input buffer. The earlier non-LED Rats had ONE transistor and were better sounding IMO.

Hows about guts ?

....because maybe the second transistor is used for LED-switching an not as an input buffer ?

There´s a sucker born every minute - and too many of them end up in the bootweak pedal biz.
