Why Marshall tonestack is so popular since it cut mids, even with full mids?
On center position it has bass boost an notch in mids.

The Marshall tonestack has way more mids than the Fender tonestack!

Mids are good to cut through the mix, but that doesn't mean that more midrange than bass or treble is what people are talking about. Even the mid-cut that a Marshall tonestack provides, all knobs at noon, can seem to have a pretty aggressive midrange.

So, in summary, the Marshall tonestack is popular because it has a lot of mids compared to most tonestacks out there.

If you would like more mids, my favorite Marshall tonestack mod is to increase the treble cap from 500pF to 1n. It makes the mid cut less deep and moves it down into the lower mid region. Hope that is helpful :)
