Something new: I've found out a local supplier that has the SAD1024 in stock. It's quite expensive: €42,00! Do you thin will worth it or it's wiser to go for the MN3007 version that only costs around €8,00?

Buy the SAD1024 and sell it to someone to use in a repair, it'd be better used that way and use the MN3007, it'll sound just as good and is more available (3207 would be even better to use if they have them)JRM wrote:Nice shots fernieite!

I understand what you're saying but you haven't answered about the tone: is there any difference?
On top of that I don't have any PCB drawing with the 3207 (not even a verified schematic). Even the MN3007 that I have I'm not sure it will work perfectly.

And tonal difference? Probably not that you'll notice, it'll still sound like an Electric Mistress, they haven't used the SAD1024 for a long time, it was just the easy chip to use of the day, they converted the A/DA from the SAD1024 to MN3007 or 3207 over there and no one complained about tone, it's just a delay chip, the stuff around it such as filtering etc. is the important stuff tone wise really which hasn't changed.
The 3207 might have lower headroom as it is built to run on 9V but if you're building a 9V Electric Mistress it's probably preferable to the 3007 which wouldn't be reaching its full potential anyway.

Delay times enabled by SAD1024 are much wider:
SAD1024: 0.34 to 340ms
MN3207: 2.56 to 51.2ms
MN3007: 5.12 to 51.2ms
data from the datasheets of this IC's. Does anybody knows the range where the EM plays when we mess with the rate, range and color pots?

The 4049 buffer overclocks the MN3007/3207 to push it over its limitations so the delay is shorter, BBD datasheets are true to the specific tests.JRM wrote:Thanks again! Now we saved me some time!

Look at the SAD1024, 1024 Stages, same as the MN3007 but says it can produce 340ms of Delay but you don't see them used on there own in a Delay pedal, they use the 3205/3005 series with 4096 stages as it just wouldn't be any good alone.

The truth is that I don't know almost nothing of this kind of devices. My electronics knowledge goes only to passive low, high and band pass filters, and knowing what is a trannie and a didode and how they work (basic knoledge). Though, when someone explains me this kind of issues it's easy for me to get it.

340mS with one SAD1024 means you'll have noise with a suggestion of your original input signal. Manufacturers boasted specs so to say

The Speedo on my Yamaha R1 shows 193mph and so does the bike. Probs a genuine 185mph due to innacuracies though.
To get 340ms out of a SAD1024 the clock speed would have to be very low introducing plenty of unwanted noise and aliasing distortion, you may beable to filter some of it out but the freq response would be pretty bad.

It's fairly straight forward, if you want to start it , press start. You can work out the rest of the controls for yourself !

Hey I just wanted to thank you guys for the gut shots and the schemp for the rev 5200. Mine says 5200 1C on the trace side and 5200 1B on the component side... found it in a box of junk... its missin' most of its wiring, but the components look to be all there. Wasn't lookin' to rebuild it, but its peaked my interest now that I got pics and a schematic. So... thanx again!
now I just gotta reverse trace this thing to locate the connections

Sorry to say Scruff but I once, years ago, bought a EH 10 band eq for, roughly converted, 1 USD. One always hopes for more of that luck... but it never happens.
hi guys, any schematics of the newer EXH flangers out there (the Stereo Electric Mistress, Neo Mistress) ? am trying to figure out the dual-color LED thing on them, wherein the LED color changes with the rate of flange...
