I had built an amp based on the Phoenix design a while back and it's awesome.
I used an old piece of staircase for the cabinet of it (used as a head).

Is the Mini Z running like 380 V B+, 375 V to the EL84 screen grid and ~ 345 V to the preamp sections?

for the mini z i dont think voltages are right.
380V on plate and 370 on grid is too much.

for the maz gt specs may be

pt

270-0-270 200mA

ot

4k primary

choke

10H 200mA i think is a good choice

the scheme you posted, maz18jr reverb, is not properly correct, there are some mods to do.

this is the maz 18 NR scheme that i draw from some photos.

transformers specs and power section i think are pretty close to the original, for the rest is totally correct.

if anyone have some photos or more detailed schemes for power section or transformers specs, post it!!! :horsey:

Hi,

Has anyone seen the inside of the new Dr.Z jaz 20/40 amps?
The preamp supposed to be very similar to the maz preamp, but with a few slightly different values here and there.

One thing I'm sure of is that it has a 100k slope resistor and a 120pf treble cap in the tone stack.
There are a few pics of the jaz guts on the website of http://www.proguitar.de , check out the amps section.

Also the orange drop coupling caps seem to me like 715p series instead of the usual 418 dr.z branded caps, can anyone confirm this?

Anyways, thanks a lot and Merry Christmas.

Frank

Hi folks. Just finished building a Mini Z. Attached picture for you guys. Almost finished my Carmin Ghia. Since the Carmin Ghia and a Mazerati have the same circuit, I am collecting parts for the later to build as well. The differences I see is the GT has the main filter caps on board (no big deal), a choke (curious if anyone knows what value it is or a close idea), what the 10w resister hanging to the left of the circuit board is & what it is attached to, there is a small mica cap between two legs of the two .022 sprague 715p caps (cant tell what value it is). Any help here and anything I am not seeing?
Thanks
Dan
