resistor from lug 3 to lug 9 on 3pdt?
I've seen it in photos on the web, where there would normally be a jumper, but can't find any explanation of it's purpose. Possibly switch pop?

It's most likely a zero ohm resistor (single black stripe) used in place of a jumper for the bypass path. Probably used because it's marginally easier to solder in place and looks cool.
