hey everyone this is my first post..
I've been getting into building pretty quickly (for around six months or so) and I've come across some strange IC's.
I'd really appreciate some input regarding any possible uses for these things.

x2 555d jrc (i'm assuming its a 555 timer)
x2 741d jrc (op amp right?)
x2 UA741cp (same thing or similar?)

these are the ones i can't seem to find much about.
LM565cn-14 pin (phase locked loop?)
DAC-08cn-16 pin (8-bit high-speed multiplying D/A converter?)
339PC-14pin (no clue...)
I'd really like some help understanding what i can do with these.

thank you, mick.

With the LM565 you can build Craig Anderton's Ring Modulator - a fun build.

There's a schematic in the thread above. You can find Craig's book in libraries too.

Cheers.
