Here's a perf/PCB layout if anyone is interested. The trimmers make it a little big, but it should still fit in a 1590B just fine.

pretty neat layout! thanks buddy, I'll try it soon (already made the pedal on veroboard and sounds amazing!)

The 50k resistors on the dual LPF seem a little extreme to me. That makes cut-off frequency 1446Hz; I'd imagine that is would sound quite dark even when using the High Treble channel.

Cheers to Mr. Ramble for piping in. :applause:

Great job on this. I love the plexidrive and this really gives it a run.

Works fine with 2N5457

I was lucky enough to pick-up a faulty V2.1 (the jfet in the last gain stage had blown) cheap in an online auction and while I had a PCB out replacing it, I traced the presence control. The 2nd order LPF is replaced with a 3rd order LPF with the last filter stage capacitor tied to earth via a 500KA pot configured as a variable resistor.

The resistor/cap values differ than those shown in the schematic above but if anybody is interest and can post the correct values etc.

it would be nice to see the correct values and changes for th V2.1 version. :horsey:

My bad. Mine's a V2.2; the version with a presence control and the micro-controller driven relay bypass without the muting functionality. I need to track down my notes as they are still packed away after moving house.

Using tiagojoy schematic above as reference, the version 2.2 changes are as follows:

C17 is now 330pf.

The power stage has two LPF stages running in parallel (47R resistor and a 220uf electrolytic cap). One filter feeds the trimpots of 'Normal' and 'Treble' channels; the other the Mu-amp section and trimpot of the final gain stage.

R12 is now 68K.

The second order LPF the follows the 100n cap is replaced by a third order LPF to create the 'Presence' control Note:This differs from that seen in the schematic above and represents the actual configuration used in the V2.2 pedal

R14 is 22k / C13 is 1n5; R15 is 22k / C14 is 2n2 and the extra LP stage is a 27k resistor and a 3n9 capacitor. The 3n9 cap is tied to ground via a 500kA pot wired as a variable resistor. The junction where the 27k resistor and 3n9 cap meet is the outlet for the 'Master Volume'.

Thanks for the updates! Is the Master Volume still 25Ka?

Here are the revisions to the above schematic. Based on your text I think I have it correct but if not let me know what to change.

Yes; the 'Master Volume' is still a 25kA pot.

Great job! Just two small changes:

1. The power supply stage has a 220uf cap between the reverse polarity protection diode and the two 47R resistors.
2. The 500kA pot and the 3n9 cap need to swap places with the 3n9 cap coming off the 27k resistor and the 500kA pot tied to ground as a variable resistor.

Keep up the good work. :applause:

I added a 9 circuit and 18v will do a layout now!

Schematic correct now?

Few mistakes: R17 and 18 are wrong, probably 'cause of copying, they should be 47R and also charge pump schematic is for TC1044 or 7660 not LT1054. If you want to use 1054 you need to lift pin 1. Also your vb and va are connected so decoupling is not existing and also there is no diode protection in 18v mode.

Cheers :)

I think the presence pot should be wired as a variable resistor so the output should come off of the 27K resistor instead of the wiper of the presence pot.

The order of the 500Ka presence pot and the 3n9 cap don't matter as they are a series string.
