how did you finished it?? looks like authentic..
Well... there are some similarities compared to the original. That´s why I named it Zentone, not Zendrive.
First, I painted the metal enclosure with black paint. After that I attached a thin, clear aluminium plate on the enclosure with two-sided tape. All the prints I created with AutoCad -computer program and printed it with a laser printer on a transparent sticker. After that I pressed the sticker on the aluminium plate, drilled all the holes and sprayed a thin layer of matte lacquer to protect the sticker.
This might be the easiest way to get good lookin' prints on d.i.y stomp boxes. The only problem might be finding the transparent laser sticker. It´s possible to use inkjet too, but laser print is much more stronger and long-lasting.
Any ideas what might have gone wrong here before I probe? I built this one a while back and it was working great. I recently placed it into an enclosure and now I am getting full-on distortion and the tone and gain pots have no affect on the tone and gain. The distortion is actually more than the pedal gives in it's regular working condition and it is rather compressed and pleasing. (If I can figure out how the hell I got to this point, I might make this mistake a switchable mod!).
The diode will be for reverse polarity protection and cap will be a filter for the supply. Like you said the 390R will be current limiting for the LED.

Thanks!
Is there a reason why Uk-elec uses an extra filtercap? Is it useful soundwise?
Does it have a 100uF in there as well as per the diagram above? If so I can't see it making much difference. Sometimes makers put a smaller value polyester cap in parallel with a larger electrolytic cap because electrolytics don't filter higher frequencies very well. I can't see much point in having two electrolytics in parallel though.

The 10µF is in the LED circuit, to prevent switching noises and the 5k6 is the main current limiting resistor for the LED.
"Why is it humming?" "Because it doesn't know the words!"
I recently built my Zen-clone with 2N7000's, 1N34A's and a TL072.
I love the sound of it so far, but need to change out the log tone pot for a lin; I'd love a pinch more gain, too.
Can anyone tell me what the difference might be if I used BAT41's and 4558?
So I put in a switchable 470K resistor behind the 500 K pot ;it doubles it and the gain goes up !
I like this mod especially to be able to switch between singecoil and humbucker guitars.
