While some will say this is a clone type of the BluesBreaker pedal.... I would like to think that Brian went steps further .... I have one of these in the shop for a bit and took a dive under the hood.

First thing I noticed is that the board was labeled "Paragon 02-2017b" - a working title?
"Paragon 02-2017b" - a working title?
"Paragon 02-2017b" - a working title?
Then the usual kind of thing.... lots of chiclet caps, resistors, etc... A modern board design with an MCU, relay etc.
MCU-Relay switching....
MCU-Relay switching....
Now with added Gyrator EQ (per Brian on FB) and diode switching.... I am still curious of what else was tweaked in here. Or even what these more 'modern' board designs contain.

If folks are interested in trying to dissect this microscopic PCB, I can setup for detail (macro) photos and discussion. Please chime in.

Even though many values will be a complete mystery...i'm interested on those photos! Thanks so much FeVeR2112!

As mentioned in this article (http://www.wamplerpedals.com/news/blog/ ... ted-pedals ) it was originally going to be called the paragon

well the gain switching is in the feedback loop of the first op amp adding series resistance to the gain pot and that should be easy enough to suss out, blurred or not ... R6, R7, R8 in the pictures

r6 - 47K
r7 - 1M
r8 -1M
looks like low gain is 47K, high gain is 1M in series, med is 500K in series

r21 4K7
c18 1u
could use c8, c15, c17 and of course much better shots of the bass pot area

I had a little look at the Gain switch area and came back with this:
GainSW.png
Maybe be a better way to draw it in schematic. :)

On the board, it is laid out roughly like this:

are you sure about the switch wiring? This way, it wouldn't be logical: three gain settings, but the highest one would be in the middle position

I am now cross-eyed with my tracing effort, but I think I may have the layout of the Bass Control section worked out. I know my schematic drawing isn't the best but ... LOL

I can't get the C11/C13 cap values as these are unmarked SMD chiclets ... perhaps Brian can fill in that small gap so I don't have to get the reflow gun out and disassemble/measure it. :P

If this is correct, we can discuss how this all works.

In addition to the main circuit, there is a relay chip which replaces the usual true-bypass 3PDT foot-switch. With all the room afforded by the smd parts, this works well.

Let the discussion begin! :horsey:

The Diodes D1-D6 are marked A2 14 - which I believe are 1N4148 types.

Other values missing in the schematic:

C8 4u7 50V
C15 4u7 50V
C17 1uF 50V
C18 1uF
R21 4k7
