Had to search around for that audio probe, but I'm going to make one and hope it helps with this one.

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the help.

Cool, thanks.

I found this one before you posted your link: http://www.diyguitarist.com/PDF_Files/D ... Tester.pdf

Going to run with that type of design so I'm not limited to the length of the cable such as I would with the setup at the link you posted.

Cheers!

*Edit: Didn't see that second option at your link... same idea. :thumbsup

Has anyone ever wanted to add a mid range control to there RC booster Well oportunity knocks i have a found a circuit that will quite happily mod your RC booster without changing the original circuit all it will do is essentially add a mid range control to it. As far as i understand they have released a rc booster with a mid control but anyway here is a really cool mod enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi everybody, i just opened a RC Booster, the clipping section is composed by 6 x 1N4001 diodes, in simmetric configuration.

I traced a recent RC Booster since there are a few different schematics out there and I wanted a definitive trace.

Xotic RC Booster trace
Xotic RC Booster trace

The only real change from earlier schematics is that the input capacitor C7 is 1uF instead of 47n. No real difference in tone since the cutoff frequency is really low either way. Still, good to have confirmation that the RC Booster hasn't changed much and the previous traces are accurate.

Full tracing journal here (includes AC Booster and Bass RC circuits as well):

Malacandra PCB here (can build any of the three variants) - updated to V2 based on traces:

Hi, has anybody checked out Version 2 with that additional Gain2?
Is that "added gain channel" just a second pot on a switch, replacing Gain 1 or maybe something else? The manual states "when switch is active gain 2 is added to gain 1". A schematic would be highly appreciated.
