Yea I'm not sure about those 2N584. Never heard of those before and I did a quick search without any real results. The closest I found was 2N5840 but I feel like that might be a whole nother transistor altogether. Anyways whatever you have here is what the build doc ask for. And cheap!!!
http://www.futurlec.com/cgi-bin/search/search.cgi and type in "2N5457"

Yes I was referring to the bottom of the vero. If you grab some flush cutters you can trim the leads all the way down to where the top of the solder volcano/hersey kiss forms. It could also be that I was too careful!
Here's some cheap cutters for an example:

i'm going to guess that 2n584 was a typo and they meant 2n5458

when I get some time, I'm going to make a new board layout for board-mount pots and possible a switch to go connect/disconnect the 2M2 that some people have done.

Hi Reverend, here is a link on off board wiring. If i understand your question, usually the output from the fooswitch would go
to the output jack.
but you can look up what you need here
http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/tec ... ng-options

good luck

FYI to anyone building this, bear in mind that the poster has inexplicably flipped the PnP, so the component layout shown is backwards. I'm building from this layout right now, if it is verified I will post a pdf file with the PnP in the correct orientation.

Haven't verified it yet, it is populated but I haven't wired it up yet. But here is the corrected project file anyway, with the proper PnP orientation.

I used a 2n5457, a 2n5458, and 2 j201's. Mine does NOT sound right, and I'm guessing it may have to do with the fact that J201's are pretty notoriously inconsistent. Thoughts?

I can definitely say it's verified (I did manage to poulate the board backwards so that it would work :) ) I'm just not getting very good sound from it. I'd put money on it being the fets for me.

By the way, no ill will intended, I thoroughly appreciate you posting the layout!

Why the flip though? If you printed as you have posted it onto transfer paper, it will etch backwards.

No worries ... I use this format as a mask for my uv transfers. Guess I could just flip the transparency huh lol

It's best not to flip the transparecy when using light to develop a pcb as the you want the toner on the side of the transparency that contacts the pcb, this way you get less light leakage and crisper traces. :secret:
It's fairly straight forward, if you want to start it , press start. You can work out the rest of the controls for yourself !
