Home Brew Electronics - Germania (gutshots) [traced]
Hey NegationOfNegation! you'r right its not 2N4401 its a 2N4403. and R2 its connected to the base of Q1 and other leg C1.
thank you. and sorry about the quality of the photos and hidden with wire. its because the owner of this pedal dont want to desoldering things. but if you want to see something better just tell me. I try to have better angle photo.
R12 - 3k3
R13 - 10R

Here the preliminary Layout, that contains assingments and values.
I am not sure about the resistor values, because it is difficult to identify the code colors on it.
Hi ThiagoFaraday,

You can use that online application to identify the resistor values.

I started tracing for find the schematic and found that I was totally wrong with some resistor values, therefore I checked again.
Please re-check the values too.

Hi Manfred,
R11 is 1Meg i.m.h.o, it it the pulldown after output capacitor
(original RM doesn't have a footswitch and no pulldown too).
R7 is 1Meg too, i.m.h.o it it the pulldown for capacitor C3.
I guess, the (re)attached shows the values of R7 and R11.
Q1 is an 2N4403 -- an pnp.
Hi ThiagoFaraday,
I'm afraid, but I guess, somebody with physical access to the
device should disentangle all the blue wires between HF/LF/3Q etc.
and the switches.
HiFi/LowFi-Switch (B) seems to be a bypass for the buffer and Q switch (A)
seems to change input capacitor, but on photograph it is not shure enough
imho.

Hello Manfred , NegationOfNegation.
I think its pretty much it, only corrections NegattionOfNegation already did, R7- 1M, R11-1M, Q1 - 2N4403 (PNP). the circuit its positive ground. like old rangemaster.
and Yes. the Hi-Fi / Lo-Fi switch turn the circuit with the buffer/boost or pass to the simple circuit that starts on the middle of all.
but I see some correction to make on this schematic. first I think R3 go from C6 direct to the base of Q1.

Hi,
lifte draft would be helpfull.
I don,t understand, please give me further explanations,B2.1 to input circuit
B2.2 to 3PDT input circuit

I understand better now, because I found this shot.
sorry!

Hi all,
attached schem, sorry that PSPICE didn't have switches, so
you must imaginize the leg of every switch.
Circuit make sense, it is either a rangemaster with different
input capacitors (9,5nF 2,7nF 5,4nF) -- this is LowFi mode --
or a buffered booster (full range or with a litle low cut; HiFi).
That means, in HiFi mode 3Q switch doesn't change anything
(so both switches could be realized with on 3 layer 4 position
rotary switch)
One thing seems greek to me, i.m.h.o it would be better, when
LED current doesn't flow via R13, switching LED could cause a
litle pop.
@ThiagoFaraday
Does the other switches cause noises?
Greets and a happy new year

Hey all!
NegationOfNegation, I just tested and could not hear any unusual noise when I used the switches or turned on the pedal. may have some that I could not identify with my ears, but if I have it, it is not significant at all.
And I think the pedal its it, you'r right with the HiFi mode on, the 3Q doesnt nothing to the sound. 3Q only for the normal rangemaster mode, LoFi.
For those who want a great sound of rangemaster but think it doesnt fuzz enough its a good choice, with the HiFi mode.
and the 3Q Supplies well the necessity when you change guitars, pickups, amps...
Thank you everyone and Happy New Year!
