If you have an extra pot laying around I'd say do it. At first it just seems like a combo fuzz/volume control since it affects the volume and gain but the character of the fuzz gets less complex and gates in a cool way. It won't turn it into a fuzz factory or anything but its fun. Use a 5k though. The sound completely dies past that so a 10k or higher will have a large dead zone towards the end of the pot travel.

I fancy attempting this one and will add a starve if I can. Great looking pictures by the way!

Absolutely, just a pot inline with the voltage to the circuit.
