The rough average I've seen them go for is around 120.
sold - approx. two years ago or so.

BTW, on my unit from (autumn 1978) the 3k9 resistor at the input is actually 1k and the 2M2 from collector to base of the input stage is 3M3, transistors are 2SA 564A-R. Power supply transistor is 2SA 777-R.

Thanks! I'll try the suggestions + some true bypass work :)

Sound is really nice btw! I find it to sound more like a tape echo then an analog delay (like my Pearl AD-08); it cuts lows on the delays so you really get that tape echo trebleness I like!!

Really surprised right now :D

The prices vary a lot, I've seen them for around 100 but also 200. Usually they are sold cheap when I don't look at them the last day or when I didn't bid, grrrr :)

I think I'll have to buy me an electrical screwdriver, put the camera on a stand, put some white paper or sheet on the floor and have a big "gutshot day" so analogguru can reply to my posts without mentioning gutshots :p

Wow

That mod did the trick really well. Now the unit is silent and the only hum I hear is from my single coils.

Awesome!

Hey,

I've bought this delay as a broken some time ago.
Previous owner made strange connections inside and it seems that some of wires are connected in wrong places.
Is there any chance to get detailed inside photos of this unit including wires connections?

Thank you in advance!:)

i returned to this effect to solve my "last" mystery:
when i put the switch on "chorus" or "duplex" setting and choose shorter delay times, i get a noticeable amount of distortion. what gives ?
i get 13.5 V out of the zener/trannie arrangement.
searching for different settings for the bbd bias did not help, it is good as it is set...also the clock trim is ok.
in the delay setting, the sound is perfectly ok.
btw, what does that third trimpot do (the 220k near the fet that goes to ground) ?

cheers,
lohstah

Dirk Hendrik may also have one ?

analogguru

please, I would like to see schematic....if it is possible :block:
and is there version of MN3005 in small DIL8 package(like TL082).....or it have to be long BBD body(in one place they are selling them, but on picture there is normal DIL8 ic)???

thanks

It was on page 2 of this thread. Unfortunately Bernardduur seems to have the nasty habit of taking things down..

it is one of the big mn3005 er´s, with the space in between the pins.
i still have that schematic saved, i don´t know if it was the last version; if it´s ok with bernarddur, i can put it up as an attachment.

cheers,
lohstah

it would be great if yo attach it here!
thanks

P.S. what is the best analog delay (MN3005) that I could build???

apart from the happiness that the schematic is up again and the questions of what to build next, does anybody have an idea what´s causing the trouble with my pearl ?

cheers,

update on my pearl woes: also the short delays are distorted. not only in the chorus settings, but also in the pure dealy setting.
so, what can cause distortion in short delays, the shorter, the more distorted, while long delays are perfectly ok ?
it´s not the mn3005, i tried another one and the trouble stays the same.

cheers,
lohstah

I would guess it's in the same neighborhood as other mn3005 based delays- 500 to 600ms of clean delay? Think DM-2 and AD-80 time amounts.

Each MN3005 only delivers around 300ms of Delay (204.8ms according to the datasheet but that doens't mean it can't be pushed further) and as far as I can see this only has a single chip so that much.
