hey all!

A long time ago I played over an Acetone FM-3; since then I am trying to find a schematic of this unit, just as it sounded so great (well, in my mind)

So does anyone has a schematic of this or know what happens inside one?

This I also would like to know/see.....

I haven´t played one, I only have seen pictures of it - like these:

http://www.digimart.net/images/64/DS00123350_1.jpg

http://www.digimart.net/images/64/DS00123350_3.jpg

no guts.....

Rumours say it should be very similar to the Roland AF-100 Bee-Baa (difference: tone pot vs. tone switch)

Thanks for those pics; shame no guts!

The thing is that I played it next to a Bee Baa and this one really blew it away both in sound as in feeling. The unit sounded so much better then that Bee Baa...........

It has been some sort of quest for me now.......

I've had the FM-2 since it was released way back when (sheesh I'm old...) but my local music store never got in an FM-3. Any sound files anywhere? From the case (thanks for the pics AG) it looks like it could be an FM-2 with additional volume and tone control for the 2nd stage as well as a tone control for the first stage (or maybe the other way around).

It's not very revealing, but here is an ebay gut shot from an FM-2:

The Bee Baa and Roland Sustain schemos have been available at geofex since 1996 and 1999 respectively.

The FM-2 is clearly the progenitor of the Univox Superfuzz, the biggest difference being two cascaded separate transistors instead of a two transistor feedback pair.

I'm pretty far out of the loop these days. Has this been traced?

Yea. it sold without even a photo. Graham's description in the link I posted above makes me want to weep. Beyond a BeeBaa and a Fender Blender? Fuck, I should have just bought it. [smilie=a_doh.gif]

Don't stress guys.. I DID just buy it.
I figured it wouldn't sit there while we worked out a way to group buy it.
It's appears to be all original, and it sounds better than i could have hoped for.. All will be revealed in due course..
:thumbsup
