I did this quickly but my feeling is that it's mostly accurate with the info available. I'm too lazy to figure out all the caps and some orientations may be reversed in my haste to put this together. Anyway, have fun with it.

This new schematic is missing R4, another 10K.
R3 and R4 are connected in series between Pin 1 and Pin 5 of IC1.
Diodes D1 and D2 and C1 are connected to the junction between R3 and R4.
C1 is 1nf.
C4 and C5 are 220pf.
C8 is 100nf.

Should the feedback diodes not connect to the (-) input of th op-amp on pin 2?

No, the diodes clip to the 4.5 volt Bias voltage point.

there has been some confusion, mainly on my part, as to how R3+R4 are laid out. Here is a high resolution pic to show it. Thanks to audiohub again. I had to make a third rev to the schematic. Practice makes perfect :) . This fits with what the OCD and voodoolab now. The junction of R3 and R4 from pin 1 to pin 5 should have the connection to D1/D2 combo. Feel free send comments

The SMD-cap values are verified on an actual unit and are correct. R7 is 150k but diode D3 is still in the wrong direction.

Diodes D1 and D2 are marked "A6" (instead of "W2") on my unit. Pin 2 and 3 of the "Drive"-poti are connected together.

Now we need a daughter board design mod that uses a pair of 2N7000 MOSFETS for clippers. 8)

IIRC, the 9V supply does not go in series through the diode as shown. The diode (1N4004) is connected from supply to ground for polarity protection, and a 100uf and (probably) 100nf cap are tied from supply to ground for filtering. I didn't remove any of the tiny SMD caps to measure them, but might this weekend. I'm guessing that with so much else of the circuit copied, these are probably correct values. A nice feature for the SMD electrolytic caps is that there are connected through holes underneath them when you remove the caps, making for easy replacement with through hole parts. Nice!

I didn't have a SMD TL082, so I left the stock TL072 installed for now. I've noticed a number of people here claim the the 082 is a key component of the OCD sound, so I'll order some soon to replace it and see for myself. I may also try replacing C8 at some point with a multilayer ceramic.

I did order a few SMT TL082's and tried one in this pedal, along with changing the rest of the signal caps to mutilayer ceramics to mirror the OCD. To my ears, it made a small change towards the better (cuts a bit more) and I've kept it this way.

An even better mod was replacing the 12K filter resistor with a 50K trimmer (Bournes 3362 which was easily glued on the board edge where I could adjust it while listening). This allowed me to select a filter adjust point for the front panel tone knob that worked best with my setup.

The pedal sounded great right out of the box, and even better now (to my ears, anyhow) for under $30! It's a keeper.

In the current Guitar Player magazine issue there's a test about 39 pedals, the Dano Drive is among them.
The article says it hasn't such an inspiring distortion tone and it doesn't clean up well rolling back the guitar volume.
Given the fact the Dano IS a OCD clone (and my ears seem to confirm it, 100%), why did they give an editor's award to the Fulltone pedal sayng that it had great tone and a good dynamic too with the volume knob?! :D!!!
It makes me laugh, but I'm a bit worried about the real value of these tests and reviews.

Seems they were listening with their eyes. And of course, GP reviews are worthless anyway. It's all about sucking up to their advertisers.

I have both a Drive and a V1 OCD and there is little difference in tone and dynamics between the two. I know TGPers will flame roast anyone who makes this claim but I dare them to pick out the real OCD in a blind test.

I heard them both, side by side, and the only difference I've really found is the pots taper, so equal positions make a slightly different sound. But the character overall is there, I'm quite sure about it.

I dunno. The CCD I had was way brighter with the tone at 12 o clock than the OCD could ever get, even maxed tone with HP up.

I was wondering if its possible to run the danelectro cool cat drive at 18 volts like many people do with the Fulltone OCD?
Or will any damage be done?
