Making sound does not have to involve a guitar. Put it on a stand, hang it on the wall and allow yourself to indulge into synthesis!
Greetings, me, a guitarist for 27 years and a modular synth freak for 3 years now.

Re: Fuzz Face kits
Cool. Bought two of the black PCBs.. I have all the components here, mojo ones gutted from some old radios..
Else I would have gone for the kits.
Nice stuff!

Re: The "Sound" of Capacitors..
I can hear the difference, it is quite obvious. Claiming otherwise is just pure ignorance. Here's a quick list of some factors to consider why 100nF measures the same, but sounds completely different. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Types_of_capacitor#Q_factor.2C_dissipation_and_tan-delta http://en.wik...

Tengo Na Minchia Tanta is also a Zappa song. Devi usare un pollo!
Very interesting project. In my newbie eyes, this looks a lot like a small 60's Ge transistor radio power section... ?

Works well in Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 with Java Version 12.4.0 (Platform Standard Edition 6) on my 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo macbook with the older GMA X3100 GPU.

wow. that sounds really good. must... have.... diamond... Has anyone compared the Diamond gutshot to the "Baja LA2A Style Optical Limiter" schematics? I use the Bomb Factory LA-2A in plugin format on vocals in ProTools often (also love the 1176) and it does work on acoustic guitars very we...

This one sounds great in all the youtube videos. I'm looking forward to build it when we get the schematics and analyzing why it works so well will also be intriguing.

This seems like a cool build.. but how does one view that youtube demo video?
I have never seen a message like that 'private' message for youtube videos before.
If there is an invite, I hope doug invites me, my youtube nick is jjuup

Re: Microfoot (Advanced midi controller)
This is really cool! I have an Arduino duemilanove and have been looking for some projects worthwhile.. I've got this controller previously bookmarked: Four 4051 multiplexers controlled by arduino to scan 32 voltage dividers and output as midi. http://www.flickr.com/photos/captaincredible/3359088943...

Re: Mike Matthews - Soul Kiss [schematic]
I bought a Soul Kiss in december 1991 from Manny's Music on 42nd street in New York. I think I was the only guy in Finland that had one and I rehearsed with it to perfection at the rehaersal studio, skipping my wah pedal for quite many tunes. It was also a vital part of one intro... it worked very n...

Re: OA79 Germanium glass tube diodes?
The Deacy amp sounds like an interesting project, I love the older Queen stuff... However I don't think it would suit my personal style as the midrangey sound Brian May is known for is perhaps a bit too jolly for me. I feel like a fool now for taking the little 6V radio apart before even testing how...

Re: OA79 Germanium glass tube diodes?
A deacy amp!! The AC128 would work fine! Do you have a driver and output transformer in it? These lots of Ge transistors are a good find! :applause: Just one small driver transformer, no labeling on it. http://img.skitch.com/20090614-j8r12w69ep216q6ckwae2ac5yn.jpg I'm a complete novice with transfo...
