Re: Systech - Harmonic Energizer [schematic]

Finally built this a few weeks ago using PurplePeopleEater's pcb. It's confirmed. I used a J201 for the FET. It's a cool little circuit for adding color of various types. Very vintagy tones available from this thing. It is noisy if you turn up the gain, but if you keep it down, you're set. I'm a fu...

You threw me off with the "Prescription Electronics" tag. It's actually "Practical Electronics". :D Thanks for the article, very cool !

:hmmm: Not the same, but pretty darn close. Yeah it looks derived from the same layouts that Moosapotamus has listed on his web site. Not the current board but the first one he ever listed. Yep, heres a link to a layout and a photo of earlier versions- http://www.moosapotamus.net/IDEAS/ADAflanger/A...

Re: Menatone - Pleasure Trem 5000

If you can note the wiring (in/out, etc.) I can add this to my "make a schem" pile with my fulltone tremolo. I can try to get to both this weekend. I no longer have the unit available to me. The switch photo should help, and I'll look for any other pictures I may have in my files though. :)

I'm surprised that nobody has really paid attention to this thread. It's a good sounding pedal, I just haven't had the free time to trace it yet. The photos I added should be plenty though.

Re: Ever heard of the Shin-ei FY-6?

re;peoplepurpleeater So it's all ok if I just copy it over to a different piece of paper?? No. Still has copyright issues. However, if you combine that and other pictures (for instance, the one where I took the known gut shots of all the HSTBs and combined them for easier reference) it's probably o...

maybe a jumbo bender? https://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i293/rnfr/BELLFUZZGUTS2.jpg You can clearly see two sets of clipping diodes in this picture. The JTB only has one set. However, I only see 3 transistors, which IS like the JTB !It may just be a JTB with an extra clip set. I'll study a bit mor...

Re: JHS - Treble Booster ( Hornby-Skewes )

actually it's both :D I can set it to PNP, but I can't rotate it.. fixed it, but it looks weired. thanks for pointing it out! I thought I remembered it being weird on that program. Easiest fix is probably just to notate on the schematic that the transistor should be PNP instead of NPN, or just chan...

Re: JHS - Treble Booster ( Hornby-Skewes )

he may be wrong about the 47n input cap. I can't precisely tell what the grey cap in the picture on page 1 reads. it might be .0047. I agree. Look at the .001uf cap and note the position of the "." in relation to the "001". Compare that to the larger cap, which has a clearly vis...

It happens. That thread is an interesting read. Bassplayer is doing the right thing by not making assumptions, and only putting down the information that he can visually verify.

Re: JHS - Treble Booster ( Hornby-Skewes )

If you look at the latest schematic , you'll see that the electrolytic is wired for positive ground, not negative. that's not bassplayer's latest schematic. it's this one. Actually, that's his schematic for the HS Bass Booster, not the Treble Booster. The two 10k's are different and it has a 100n c...

Re: JHS - Treble Booster ( Hornby-Skewes )

So getting one from smallbear is probably the best suggestion? (are you 100% on the pnp aspect?) The electrolitic caps are negative ground, usually using npn The thing is,I tried a lot of pnp si's with no success,a 2n3153 being the final choice Just interested in how you're going about it This is ex...

Pretty much all that is true, and I'm glad you took my intent the right way. I certainly wasn't meaning to attack you or anything. I just wanted to let people know that getting things right is important, so we have a solid foundation to start experimenting with. That's the great thing about this hob...

Re: JHS - Treble Booster ( Hornby-Skewes )

Hmmm, ....Much better to say,"use an npn si of 400 hfe(2n5089 to start)..... Too bad that wont work unless you also flip the polarity of the electrolytic and the power supply. The HS has a 2N4061 in it, which is a PNP, so the circuit is positive ground. The 2N5089 you suggested is a NPN. Anoth...
