Re: Bearfoot Honey Bee [traced]

What's down right laughable is Donner referring to his self-informed paint slinging as anything resembling actual painting! I have some of his work and it is appallingly garish and devoid of any skill beyond a familiarity with poster paint applied by a toddler's fist. :slap: Not to diminish Donner's...

Ok. ok. ok. ok….. Just spent a good hour (or two) reading and rereading this completely fascinating thread. Am a psychocandy-sound obsessive. Which could easily be cured with a Shin-ei fuzz-wah. Alas I’m also one of those fashionable public sector redundancy statistics, so £150 for a Shin-ei is a w...

There's one on the big auction site and it hadn't bid for more than $300 USD this morning. I put a link to it on the D*A*M website. It's under the "fuzz" heading. :applause: I hope the price doesn't leave the Stratosphere by the time the auction completes. It's missing a handle and a few s...

Re: [SCHEM] Keio Synthesizer Traveler [schematic]

Nice job Dirk, thank you! I've never seen or much less heard one of the puppies so it'll be a fun project to put one together. Does anyone see obsolete parts that may make the BOM a bitch to fill? Why "Traveler" I wonder? Or am I confusing a sojourner [i.e. Kwai Chang Kane] with the treadl...

Re: Prescription Electronics - Experience Octave Fuzz

The pots in mine are all 100K linear Alphas. The controls seem to work smoothly in terms of no
weird humps or hiccups when sweeping them. They provide a good range of control in the PE circuit.
I hope this helps,

Howdy aquataur [Wet Bull?], Check yer PM. Here's a picture of the component side with the wiring. The second one is not my pedal though one can make out the leads more clearly. Compare this wiring to the artwork I posted to verify it matches what's found in the PE Exp. box. I'll need to extri...

Thanks Charlie!
It's built like the designer had something in mind. Shame that they fail so easily.
How does one sand an IC without causing electrostatic damage anyway? :hmmm: I
imagine it's like shuffling your shoes on carpet but I've been mistaken before.

Re: Kingsley - Jester [gut shots]

It looks like it doesn't develop plate voltages in excess of 100VDC if those electrolytic caps are used for filtering. I'd rather build the Matchless HotBox for it's more amp like design. In reality the Blackstone is my favorite compact way to goose a tube amp with too much clean headroom. Thanks fo...

jrod,
Thanks man. Leave it to Analogguru to suss the thing out (and reveal design flaws) unerringly.

I've never heard one so maybe I should put this on the list of future builds. Is it 8va Up or 8va Down?

Is this worth getting the tracing side pics? Is the schematic already on one of the DIY FX sites and that's why this is a half-assed submission? :hmmm: Has anyone placed a small voltage on the Xfmr's Primary to calculate what is being used here? Is it just an impedance matching Xfmr typically 300Ω t...

Re: Sola Sound - Tonebender Mark II Professional [schematic]

Haha no Worries :D But yeah... the design aint picky, stick a shite transistor in and two half decent ones (even 4-800uA leakage - Just over 60 hfe) and it'll still play nice, if it does vary, the germanium diode trick from the MkIII works well if it's tempremental Certainly needs some leakage, I t...

Re: Rocket Pedals - Animal Overdrive [guts] [traced]

Is that pedal red on the outside and black on the inside? All the Animal OD's I've seen were red. I believe all the cases are wrinkle black, while the front and back are painted to the colour of the particular model (it's a 3 piece case). The screw attachments are swaged on... not part of the casti...
