Re: Circuit for a Blackstar Fly 3 watt amp?

Nice summary about op amps from @teemuk himself: Re: Different opamps in the OCD (08.02.2018 11:03, on DIYStompboxes ) It may seem obsessive but the OpAmps are not all equal and do behave differently in certain conditions. Which can explain why they sometimes introduce different "tones". B...

Re: ADD A+B TO A A/B PEDAL - HELP MODDING

As you already have been told, you need to mix the guitars to have them on the same output. But, if you only want this for practice and you don't care that the signal will decrease, it can be done with three resistors. The actual schematic of your pedal is something along to this: x-vive-v12_aby-min...

Re: led weirdness in mxr m89

9V across the LED will toast it. Can you tell us the order of the parts? E.g. +9V -> 4k7 resistor -> cathode anode -> anode cathode -> switch. I'd take out the LED and measure the voltages at the cathode and the anode and the current between the cathode anode and anode cathode. If those are right I ...

Re: BOSS DS-1 led not lighting up

It seems that the transistors are doing their job (switching). Also the voltage is changing at the LED, although I think 200mV is a bit too low. Q4's collector gets a bit of +9V from R30 too. Did you measure the voltages along the whole circuit, the +9V D2 pin, the junction of D2 and R35, the juncti...

Re: Forum Maintenance and Development News & Announcements

Changed all database tables' engine to InnoDB.
The most visible side effect will be the minimum search keyword length - you can now search for 3 letters words (the default for InnoDB), down from 4 (the default for MyISAM).

Please let us know if there's anything that does not play nice.

cobyjoe's only posts are in this thread and both ask if anyone interested in the schematic. Looking at the posts' date, it seems we have to wait another year for his/her next post

Re: Circuit for a Blackstar Fly 3 watt amp?

Manfred beat me to it :D Did simulations in Tina TI - apparently it does work with a PNP transistor (I assumed a 5V voltage on "LC" pin): img_20201207-024838.png img_20201207-024913.png I had to add a 390Ω resistor to limit the LED current to around 10mA. It kinda resembles a constant curr...

Re: Topic: How to Convert single supply voltage circuit to Dual +/- voltage supply???

If you're using a charge pump to convert the usual 9V to 18V, there is an easier way. Just use the charge pump as a negative voltage converter to get -9V (in pdfs: ICL7660S - figure 14, MAX1044 - figure 8, LT1054 - page 10). That enables you to use the circuit as is, no voltage divider needed, becau...

Re: Does Ground reference always need to be 0 Volts?

As I understand, you just want to use a charge pump (ICL7660S, MAX1044, LT1054) to get maximum voltage from the usual 9V DC power supply. @plush and @treefallsound already made the pitfalls clear. You can get +9V/GND/-9V from a charge pump, thus complying with the ground reference standard. Also, it...

Re: Boss OS-2 Self Oscillating

If your input jack has normally closed switches which open when you plug in a cable, you could connect the tip switch to the ground Vref (+4.5V, Vcc/2) so it will ground the input when nothing connected.

If I'd be in your place, I'd try to modularize the circuit since it has so many repeated parts. Maybe even on separate pluggable PCBs with input, output and power supply pins on the connectors.
