Re: Aleks K Red Scorpion Mega Distortion 2
There's a single gutshot on their website (loaded with scripts and crap, by the way). IC has a bit of goop on it, which is always a silly move.

Re: A Switching Scheme [documentation]
I wrote something a long time ago Hi. The circuit idea is a good one, but the 555 will draw more current than the whole of the rest of your circuit! It's a very current-hungry device. If you're going to use this approach, spend a little more on the CMOS version of the 555 - it's called the 7555, an...

Pretty sure there's a write-up containing most of the Devi circuits and a list of the combos used in the dual pedals on Scribd.

FS: Pedal Projects and Misc. Parts (Boss DC-2 inside...)
Hey all, figured I'd put these out for all you guys to see. I'll never get around to doing anything with them, maybe you'll find some use instead. Lookin' to get maybe $100 for the lot? Send me an offer. Paypal preferred, gift is always a bonus, but not a requirement. https://imagizer.imageshack.us/...

Damn, Brian, you really are the actual fucking man, aren't you?
So what's going on in the "high gain/scramble/octave" mod on these? I've seen you offer up info for the DIY inclined, but never had a mini to look at for comparison.

smallsound/bigsound - mini [traced]
Some preliminary gutshots to get things rolling. They're not the best, but it's what I can do at this precise moment. I only have the pedal for another day or two, so ask all the questions you can. https://s44.photobucket.com/user/bubstanceagain/Mobile%20Uploads/story Q1= 2N5089 Q2= J201 Q3= 2N5457 ...

Don't worry about it, it's a polarity protection thing I had added out of habit to all of my schems from that time.

wow.. you really don't know your audience do you. if you'd just taken the photos and posted them people would have helped you anyway... but using it as a bargaining chip? way to lose any chance of respect here. that's completely contrary to the spirit of this place. Um, I'm not sure that's w...

Yeah, I noticed the same thing about the YouTube videos.
On a different note, a test value for the "?" capacitor could be around 1µF.

Re: Teese RMC 2 [gut shots]
Yeah, I just did a quick Google about him and FoxRox; seems he licensed it after routinely suggesting the retrofit to customers. If you look under the RMC2 page on his site it says it uses "licensed fuzz-friendly technology", i.e. an output buffer.

Re: Teese RMC 2 [gut shots]
It's most likely an output buffer. It's a common remedy that allows for better use in front of something like a fuzz.

Mmm, muffy.
So they (whoever) changed from the whole "NPN silicon into PNP germanium" thing, eh? The last gutshot I remember seeing of one of these had 4 transistors.

Re: Death By Audio Interstellar Overdriver [traced]
Oh, no hard feelings, mang. Here's what I got after a quick look last night. The only real difference from the above is the 3.3k and 10k resistors have swapped places and the transistors have been flipped. Could be wrong, check it over, breadboard it, etc. etc. etc, blah blah blah. The volume pot wi...

Re: Death By Audio Interstellar Overdriver [traced]
Actually, check the first half of the dual-gang pot at the input. It looks like the signal comes out of the wiper, not what it looks like you have.

This is basically what I got, although it looks like the transistors are reversed in relation to your schematic, i.e. collectors to ground.Glass_Hero wrote:so here is my guess..

Re: A Switching Scheme [documentation]
Yeah, like I said, I don't think those names can be moved unless you increase the width of the part. I made my relay symbol differently; it makes a bit more sense in my head than an 8 pin device and shows what's happening in the relay. Just use a relay symbol, like below, and then add in symbols for...

As far as I know the names of pins are fixed and cannot be moved.
