Re: Poly-Drive X by RMC -schematic

I doubt there's a strong reason why. probably just because they could.

Re: Radial Engineering - SGI (Studio Guitar Interface) [traced]

that JFET/BJT buffer is probably arranged more like the first example in this diagram, http://www.hqew.net/files/Images/ArticlHigh-Impedance-Low-Capacitance-Buffer-Amplifier.gif The funny opamp thing with the complimentary BJTs is a virtual ground for a split rail power. The box is powered by 15V an...

Re: Generic I/O board for pedals, with bistable relay [verified]

the microcontroller is capable of so much more though, and that's the point here. it can do momentary switching, a muting pulse, a remote control in, even a second switch channel for adding a boost or something else.

why yes you do. My requirements have slowly outgrown the system, and i've found the time to start programming my own.

I've not found any evidence of lock-up problems yet.

Re: Generic I/O board for pedals, with bistable relay [verified]

It's actually interesting as Chris (Mictester) during my last phone chat with him suggested to make a fusion of his switching idea with AVR controllers. One pin can drive his switching scheme. The only problem I see, is that the AVR will not be able to 'see' what the status is of the relay. this I ...

Re: Anyone has some gutshots of Way Huge Fat Sandwich? [traced]

i produced the original traced schematic of the Fat Sandwich, and yeah the resonance pot is a little funny. I love the FS so much that I then picked up the Pork Loin. I find the PL is trickier to dial in, mostly because of the mixing of the two paths.

i meant 680R to 1k for the input and output limiting resistors I linked to. those are just common values that I have.

i use 680R or 1k for the series limiting resistors, and usually a 100k to ground on the output.

the pin connections on the FETs are incorrect. compare to another JFET overdrive to see what i mean. could you post a higher resolution image?

Re: Generic I/O board for pedals, with bistable relay [verified]

Is there any particular reason why you guys are interested in a PIC based implementation? Or is it just personal preference? I am asking out of genuine curiosity, as Atmel stuff is becoming more and more popular (thanks to Arduino I guess) and I was looking to start experimenting with programming a...

When/If I get it I will post here. If you want some help let me know. I have not coded for PIC before but I'm trying t...

Re: Way Huge - Pork Loin [traced]

just a little FUI, the two discrete stages in the clean side of the Pork Loin are similar to the BA283 stage that were used in Neve designs such as the 1073.

I have one of these now, and its really a nice unit after some trimmer tweaking.

Re: Bondi Effects - Sick As Overdrive

I've found that the best way to prevent the community here from actually reversing your designs is to be as open as possible, ie describe the design as a block diagram. Most people just want to know what/how its done, not necessarily to make themselves one. Wampler does this a lot, drops hints and e...
