Re: Klon wiring/debugging. aka I'm a total noob.

FOUND IT! :slap: I decided to try the ole "hold it up to the light trick" and found the fix! I was wondering why I had a populated klon clone board sitting in my electronics bone pile collecting dust. Oh yeah ... now I remember why I stopped. Then, after I found the trace lift at one of th...

Re: Klon wiring/debugging. aka I'm a total noob.

I just put the finishing touches on a similar build and am too having issues.
The power is on and the guitar works in bypass. However, when I stomp ... :whappen: ... nothing.
When I roll the volume control up/down it scratches.
Any thoughts before I roll up my sleeves and probe away?

Re: Interfax - Harmonic Percolator [schematic]

I have one of Chuck's HP's and I want to make a few alterations, including housing it in a different box. I figured before I tear apart a perfectly good device I'd ask the experts for guidance first. 1/ Add a true bypass. 2/ Add an LED indicator light. 3/ Either add a battery on off, or a DC jack. P...

Re: Paul Cochrane - Timmy [traced]

I met Paul up in Tennessee a year or so back and can tell you, he's one of the good guys.
I think his points on cloning for profit are justified and reasonable.
I love my Tim, even though I had to wait for Paul's thumb to heal before he could get around to building it. :applause:

P <> N ... that is the question?

I read comments and articles all of the time that say something to the effect of, "positive and negative grounded pedals can't be daisy chained." So, to all of the closet geniuses out there ... is there a way to work these misfits into a pedal chain without complications? Surely someone mu...

Re: Divided By 13 Joyride Overdrive (Gut Shots) [traced]

This isn't goop to hide components or values.. this is some (misconstrued ?) effort to stabilise or something. :hmmm: At least he hasn't gone completely Ken Fischer (RIP) ... with the red coated wire gris-gris silliness. If I ever sniff synthetic cork I'll build a faraday cage around every circuit ...

Re: Divided By 13 Joyride Overdrive (Gut Shots) [traced]

I've always thought of gooper's as rank amateurs. I'm surprised that Fred does this to his pedals, he should be proud to show off his skills.
I have an LDW 17/39, it reminds me of a second hand Marshall that my brother used to play ... only it doesn't eat tubes.

Re: Mad Professor Sky Blue Overdrive [traced]

Not trying to diminish any work done on this project but does any one else have the idea that the C1 is really 47n? I thought it would be 100n. But I removed the cap and measured it at 4.7n and I can see the reverse imprint of the value from the side of the cap rubbed off on the goop. It looks roug...

Re: Analog Delay Add-Ons - Double Time, Modulation, Exp

Sorry if I threw anyone off, it's just a dry fit, I left it like that so it'd be more visible in the photo.
I still have to add the jumpers and few other components to the big board.
But, thanks for pointing that out ... I'd hate to be the one who screwed up the picture builders in our midst.

Re: Analog Delay Add-Ons - Double Time, Modulation, Exp

Alright all you speedy builders out there ... any body have their mods on the Aqua Bean? I just returned from holiday with my family, and got cracking on adding one of these to the mod board (dry fit); http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=D0816-42virtualkey57420000virtualkey855-D0816-42...

Re: Interesting opinion on Jimmy Page/Early Zep Tonebender-FZ-1!

The history on the fuzz is spotty at best with everyone from Mayer, Page, & Beck trying to take credit; which would be like Henry Ford taking credit for the invention of the assembly line. If Page still has his original fuzz we should ask him to send us a gut shot. Just build an FZ-1 on a ...

Re: Aquaboy ver.2 - Aqua Puss board ordering info and document [documentation]

Excellent Bean! Pay close attention to the random cap/resistor locations. They make perfect sense on the schematic, but, if you do a board populating marathon* human error might creep in. In my defense I only swapped around R1 in the R2 slot (glad I caught early). When my mod boards arrive I'm going...
