Try Harbor Freight.
Stability is an issue when using a hand drill in one of the old press stands from back in the 70's and 80's. But Harbor Freight might have a small model that would suit your needs and budget.

Nueva Electrónica No.282 Anybody read it and about the JOP?
Has anyone read this edition of the Spanish language mag? It has an article on a PLL distortion unit using a Jfet Op Amp module with characteristics discussed in this post (his PDF link doesn't work by the way): http://www.gearslutz.com/board/geekslutz-forum/195801-new-good-jop-discrete-jfet-opamp-p...

To remove that set screw that is the aforementioned "whore" (aptly named no?) how about if you take a small flat head multi-bit (the kind of screwdriver that has a whole pile of little bits with different ends to make it a multi-screw driver I think you know what I mean) and a good set of ...

Re: Roadrunner - Supersonic Fuzz
Yeah, I was kind of hoping someone would do it, but I am always willing to learn.
I don't have a shot of the backside of the board. I'll give it a shot if nobody laughs and I can
get the necessary photos. May as well jump in with both boots on.

Re: Roadrunner - Supersonic Fuzz
I wonder if I am the only neophyte on here who thinks this would make a great
tutorial on how to trace the circuit and come up with the schematic and PCB overlay etc...?
I have been curious as to how some of the people on here can do it so fast.
Any tips or secrets?

"...a super-clean opamp boost of my own design, a ZVex SHO, and Jack Orman's MiniBooster. They are wired up in that order, and all I can say is that the RM->SHO->MiniBooster combo is fuzz heaven! I think I might actually throw together a fuzz design based on that because it sounds wicked."...

Re: Question about 12AX7Q and opinions needed
I hear ya.
What I found odd was that I couldn't find a reference to any other model of 12AX7Q.
I might be searching incorrectly, but it was the first I heard of that designation for a tube.

Re: Question about 12AX7Q and opinions needed
http://www.bugera-amps.com/_01/tubePage.cfm That's a link but it just has a standard small photo shot. Maybe someone who works in a music store can A/B one of the 12AX7Q's against a typical 12AX7 from say Tesla or another of the few tube producers? I would be curious to see how it would sound in Baj...

Sorry, it was just the from the information in their latest E-newsletter and it can also be found on the Bugera website. Question about 12AX7Q and opinions needed
Behringer has released a line of tubes, which I suspect are coming from one of the relatively few suppliers in the world, and they are saying this about them. "12AX7Q — Dual-triode preamp tube specially designed for “starved plate” applications that squeeze incredible tube tone into amps with s...

Re: Any recommendations for a low watt fender twin sound ?
The closest you will get will be either the Vibro Champ or the Super Champ which was an early 80's Paul Rivera design handwired 18 watter with reverb and gain channel. Difficult to find at a good price but unbelievable sound from such a small package.

Don't get me wrong, I think Dano's stuff is very cool.
I was only commenting on the price and taking into account the comments above and the work he has done, I reckon it seems fair enough.

Re: OMFG BEAVIS RULES
Some time ago, a guy was offering a pedal experimenters deal on the internet for about $125 or so and Beavis (I believe) ordered one like he mentioned on his website.
Looks like improvement on a good idea but it does appear that inflation has hit the pricing.
