Re: Höfner - Wah Wah [schematic]
I just got one of these recently except it’s Halifax instead of Höfner. Other than the name it looks nearly identical to the one Boris posted above. The serial number is 13. I was tracing the circuit and it’s almost the same as the classic Vox circuit, but there’s a 1M resistor connected between the...

Re: Dyna Soar - Lite
Also, this isn't the same pedal that Sonic Youth used. They used a regular Dyna Soar, not the Dyna Soar Lite. I remember when I saw Urge Overkill back in 1993 they had one too. http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/eq/kfx03.jpg Regular you say... Can you elaborate more info what the difference was to t...

Re: Dyna Soar - Lite
Here's the datasheet for the 2SC1344. You can see it has ECB pinout.

Re: Dyna Soar - Lite
I've owned one and mine had a .1 in the tone stack in place of the 4n. Also, in the one I had the transistors had a pinout that were wrong for the layout. My guess is that's what made it Lite and made it sound like a weak overdrive rather than a huge fuzz. I replaced the transistors with a correct p...

Re: DirtBag Delay ~ Deluxe Memory Man
I fixed the popping. Turns out C32 (22uF at the output) was leaking about 2V. I replaced it and that almost got rid of the popping. A 1M pulldown resistor at the output got rid of the rest of it.

Re: DirtBag Delay ~ Deluxe Memory Man
I've just finished up my Dirtbag and I have no issues with clock whine or excessive distortion. The only problem I have is significant footswitch popping that I can't get rid of. Anybody else have this problem and any suggestions for getting rid of it? The pcb already has a 2.2M pull down resistor....

They were made in the late 70's.

Re: Jen (Gretsch Playboy) - Harmon Booster [schematic]
The BC318Cs I bought from Mouser were NPN. You want NPN, Not PNP. I didn't worry about gain values. I think the 318s were in the 400-500 range. They're discontinued by Fairchild now. I'm sure anything similar will be fine. http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=BC318Cvirtualkey51210000vir...

Re: Jen (Gretsch Playboy) - Harmon Booster [schematic]
I dunno about your layout, but the schematic is definitely correct. I've built many clones of it from this schematic.

Re: Colorsound - Tremolo
No, I didn't trace a schematic. But the extra circuit board is just a Linear Power Booster circuit, so you can use a schematic of that to see where the 9V wire should connect.

Re: Colorsound - Tremolo
Hmmm, interesting. How long ago did you buy it? I bought in off ebay in 2008 and sold it probably in 2009. It had no such paper with it when I bought it. I can tell from looking at it why it might not be working. The 9V wire to the extra circuit board is missing. The case has a slight dent and paint...

Re: Colorsound - Tremolo
Dunno who said those are Fulltone mods, but that's how it came from the factory. The latest reissue circuit is not the same as the old ones. It has a JFET in it (that's what the trimpot is for, to bias it).

Re: Colorsound - Tremolo
Haha, I used to own the pedal in the pics above. It's a newish reissue and it had a volume drop so I added that LPB at the output to boost it up to unity.

Small Clone modded for vibrato can sound very similar to the VB-2.DWBH wrote:Really? A small clone? I thought it was a clone of the Boss VB-2.
