Re: Baja B K Butler Tube Driver [documentation]
Thanks Pete. I was wondering if that was the purpose of the zener once you had explained it wasn't part of the Bias circuit. I will see how it goes once I get it together. Thank you once again, it is much appreciated.

Re: Baja B K Butler Tube Driver [documentation]
One last question on the zener diode - according to the Rev 2 schematic do I need to put it in at all, or can I leave out? I only want to make my Tube Driver work with a Bias control feature so I am real happy to leave it out if I don't need it. Thank you gentlemen.

Re: Baja B K Butler Tube Driver [documentation]
No worries Pete, your explanation is great. It makes sense to me. Thank you for taking the time to do it as it helps me understand a lot more of what is going on. I don't actually have a copy of the Rev 2 schematic - is it listed on the forum? I asked the question about the zener as I have partly bu...

Re: Baja B K Butler Tube Driver [documentation]
It is the BK Butler Tube Driver PCB, and is listed under bajaman's first entry on page 1 of this topic:Tube Driver Bottom Layer parts placement and bias control https://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa211/bajaman002/TubeDriverBottomLayerpartsplacement.png It connects one of the 1K5 resistors to a 470u...

Re: Baja B K Butler Tube Driver [documentation]
Thanks for the reply PokeyPete. I take it then that I will need to source a 2volt 5amp zener diode to make the bias circuit work?

Re: Baja B K Butler Tube Driver [documentation]
I've got a another dumbe question - What is the 2v5 zener in the bias mod that BK Butler applies - is it a 1N4007 or something?? Thanks.

Re: Radion Ik Linear Pot for Fuzz Face
Here is a some pictures to check out of the insides. Note the length of the transistor legs - I think this proves that they are indeed non original parts as the person who removed the copper traces on the pcb was trying to connect the new ones into it by point to point wiring. the parts are not in g...

Re: Radion Ik Linear Pot for Fuzz Face
Apparently AC128 transistors Fuzz Faces don't exist if your read Analogue Mikes info. His information makes sense. However just because you have never seen one doesn't mean that they were never made. I've been to England or the USA, I haven't seen those places but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist....

Re: Radion Ik Linear Pot for Fuzz Face
I already have a 24mm alpha pot in the FF, It also has a set of BC108's in it, which is "real" 1966. The thing has a very curious old Marquard DPDT switch which has eight contacts. The original Issue 1 board with its bits and pieces and AC128 germanium trannys is all in a little bag as the...

Re: Radion Ik Linear Pot for Fuzz Face
Wow gentlemen, thanks for your interest, It nice to know that there are people willing to second guess people and make asumptions on their motives for wanting a particular part for something, If I may indulge myself just a little, may I explain why I want an original Radiohm part for my 1966 Fuzz Fa...
