Re: earthquaker devices monarch [gut shot]

I have an original Monarch here to compare with the schematic. it turns out that R17 is a 1K (by looking at the color bands and measuring it) and R19 is a 470K (not a 47K). after making those two small changes, A/B'd my clone of it and they sound identical now. thanks for posting the schematic! Re: Tone Freak Severe [gut shots, notes]

Thanks, funkalicious. :applause:

I've been curious about this one. I almost bought one! Glad I didn't :)

Is the gain pot wired exactly the same way as the crunchbox?
Or is it wired TS-style?

Thanks!

Re: Bogner Shiva schematic?

I got a hold of a hand drawn schem. From the sloclone foums, some guys have been tracing the Shiva. The crunch channel is pretty standard marshall 2203 spec with some mods for higher gain. 3 gain stages + cathode follower. the 2nd gain stage is much hotter than standard marshall 2203. Clean channel ...

Re: Eric Shannon - Helios OD

thanks for the gut shot.

from what i can gather from the posts at the TGP, this is perhaps another TS-based circuit? or maybe based on a zendrive?
most people describe it as being smooth / soft and having some bass cut and a mid hump.

Re: L'Overdrive de la Révolution Deux - A tribute to FS.org!

Thanks for the coconut! Also, shouldn't lug 3 of the gain pot connect to the bottom leg (source) of the mosfet, and also shouldn't C1 and R1 connect to the middle leg (gate)... just like in the box of rock... i just built a BoR based on your vero (thanks! by the way), so it's still fresh in my mind...

Re: L'Overdrive de la Révolution Deux - A tribute to FS.org!

Has anyone verified the vero yet?

I'm no expert, but it looks like the signal doesn't travel from Q2 to Q3, and R11 is in the wrong place.

Any developments in finding out what that mystery IC is??

I found this old post by the maker himself over at tgp:

to brigthen..
switch to a TL072ACN
that chip has a Jfet buffer in it..

to darken
go RC4558 or LM1458 or JRC4558

the stock chip is a happy medium...

Re: Fulltone - OCD [traced]

BS170's should work -- just remember that they usually have opposite pinouts. I'm not sure about any sound differences, if any, though... hi, I'd like to build this pedal but I've not 2N7000, I've only BS170 around, do you think - as I think - they would however work? Using them as clippers I don't ...

Re: Fulltone - OCD [traced]

To those you have built the circuit:

Would it be useful to replace the 22k and 33k switchable parallel resistors
with something like 10K and 25k pot in series.

I'm wondering if there are any useful tones in between.
