Re: Fulldrive 3 w/ Dynamics !
It's just a pair of antiparallel diodes in series with a resistor and pot in the feedback loop of a non inverting op amp stage. I traced the whole thing forever ago but seem to have lost the schematic. Just build a basic full range op amp boost and throw four components in the feedback loop for esse...

Re: Earthquaker Talons [traced]
I did this one a long time ago. Meant for a 1590B, but you can fit it in most enclosure sizes with a bit of cleverness. https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/yQKC4dyx Brilliant!!!! :applause: Tks a lot mmolteratx!! Yea, no problem. Here's the schem. Am I safe to assume this uses a latching stomp swit...

Re: caveman overdrive [traced]
Hi guys, sorry for the necro-post. I built this thing some days ago, and I'd like to share with you some thoughts. Here it is, built on mmolteratx OSHpark PCB (excelent work, thanks a lot! :D there's only just one thing - please check note @ end of post): 11666171_1012943032072043_39269866346652654...

Re: Buffalo FX Evolution
There was a schem up on their site for a while, dunno if it's still there. Was a voltage follower into a basic op amp gain stage, then the last three stages of the Big Muff with the tone control from the G-2, IIRC.

Re: Vertex Boost Workalike
FWIW, I wouldn't recommend building this one. I can do a redesign, but as is, it's kind of hissy and I'm not a huge fan of the overall performance.

You know what would be really cool? Designing a relay PCB that could be used with Moment-spdt pcb-mounted switches like these: [ Image ] or these dpdt: [ Image ] That would be uber cool! BTW andregarcia, where can I find your design in OSH site? I did this one a long time ago. Meant for a 1590B, bu...

Re: Jfet design questions
Yeah. We didn't do that much JFET, mostly MOSFET ;) We used Sedra/Smith - Microelectronic Circuits mostly, and then Allan Hambley - Electrical Engineering for supplements. Any good recommendations? Sedra and Smith is great, though a bit convoluted at times. We used it as our supplementary text, the...

Re: Jfet design questions
Thanks for the clarifying the function of CS Matt! The guy who taught us FET-stuff last semester wasn't really fit for it. New dude on first semester of his phd with no prior teaching experience, and then he took over the course from an old professor who had it all figured out in a way that made it...

Re: Jfet design questions
1) The low reactance of the capacitor at high frequencies bypasses the gain pot. The exact frequency response will depend on gain setting, but you'll lose less treble as the gain control is rolled down. 2) The low reactance of the capacitor at high frequencies bypasses the drain resistor, sending th...

Re: Vemuram Jan Ray (Traced) [traced]
i've found an error in your schematic, mmolteratx: the 2 resistors used to get the Vref have swapped values; 9.1k goes to ground and 7.5k to V+ [i've also checked with the pics and accordingly to your markings of ground connections (white dots), the 9.1k res goes to ground] That was a screwup in th...

Re: (512)ae Inamorata Fuzz
Okay, so I decided to redo this with active tone controls in place of the BMP tone stack. So I'm posting the old PCB design on OSHPark for those interested. Final schematic for this version is attached. This is the non inverting input version, and is ready to build. https://oshpark.com/shared_projec...

Re: Rockett WTF Fuzz [traced]
Very similar to SATISFACTION FUZZ....who is ripping who? They're both Bosstone derivatives and the WTF (and preceding Trombetta fuzzes) have been out far longer than the Satisfaction. Then there's the Voodoo Lab Bosstone, which they started producing back in '97. That's almost twenty years ago. I t...

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
I can tell you the cap values I listed as spot on. I read them right off the effect when I had it and I know the biggest change is the input cap selector. But, as odd as it sounds, I'm not sure exactly where the input cap selector is placed, as the regular beebaa there's the sustain pot and boost a...

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
Definitely interested. I am fairly new to building pedals and Love B.A.T. stuff. I am by no means good at this but really would like to figure this one out. So I checked all the resistor color codes up online in one of those apps. Some of the bands are really hard to see what the exact color is. So...

littleBrute.png i'm on my way to try this circuit,i noticed the 400k bias resistor is tied to the collector ,not Va which is typical. Is it correct this way? thank you Self bias. I think it was actually the first way we were taught to bias transistors in my intro to circuits class. Then the resisto...

Re: Rockett WTF Fuzz [traced]
Layout was actually perf with a PC mount WTF pot. Don't have it drawn up, though I guess I can trace it out if I have time. Might as well design one from the ground up though.

Re: Rockett WTF Fuzz [traced]
Does the Boost knob and switch just trace out to being an alternate volume control? That's showing up a bunch lately, like the lead switch in the Tym J Mascis fuzz. Yep. It's another 100kB pot in parallel with the normal one. I guess if you wanted to omit it and have the exact same response, you co...
