Re: EHX - Satisfaction Fuzz [schematic]
Chances are the bias knob is a riff on a Trombetta design, as found in his J Rockett collab, the WTF: https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?t=25324. From the demos, I’m not hearing the full trombone sag thing, so I would guess it’s not a lot of resistance added. For the rest, just some guesse...

Re: LAL 86 Oscillo-Fuzz (Lastgasp Art Laboratories)
Only feature missing on the original production circuit is the expression jack for tuning the oscillation. Just in-line in the feedback path, or are there any gut shots that reveal more to it?

Re: Seymour Duncan Tweak Fuzz EJ Mods
Nice. Enough depth at the front of the enclosure for standard blue 3pdt stomp switches, or did you need to go with a lower profile switch?

Re: Seymour Duncan Tweak Fuzz EJ Mods
For R4/R5, are you doing the 1K/18k Mayer/Hendrix mod? Because it alters my answer's starting ranges. I'd think about a bias tweak knob. For the stock 8K2, a 10k trimmer for R5 gets you into normal biasing range to overbiasing Q2 at low ranges (TF's "Q1" on the board), with 25k giving you ...

Re: Fender 6g15 Compared to Amp Reverb?
The Dwell control is a pre-spring pan level control. Surf guys are gonna leave it pretty high for ugly artifacts and sproing--they usually hate when spring reverbs sound too clean. When I had a silverface reverb amp, I could have really used an additional Dwell control to minimize sproing, or I coul...

Re: Rockett WTF Fuzz [traced]
I'd have to get out the magnifying glass to check the types, but I settled on 160 hfe for the NPN and 140 on the PNP. Getting a good pair made everything better. Cheap plastic cased stuff from Tsyda, no mojo here other than the right values. I've settled on 1n4148 and Tayda 1n34a symmetric pairs on ...

Re: Rockett WTF Fuzz [traced]
Anyone care to share their fave hfe pairing for Q1 and Q2? (I've been doing listening tests on clipping diodes, and after a lot of time on that I'm thinking I should get the right transistor pair first and then do the diodes--I'm getting a bunch of suboctave stuff on most diode sets, and not much su...

Re: LAL - Oscillo Fuzz (Lastgasp Art Laboratories) [traced]
is the 1N771A really necessary? It looks to me like its only a part of the ON/OFF indicator LED. Wouldn't removing the component all together give the same result in lighting and sound? On a similar tip, how about eliminating the whole indicator sub-circuit (D4, D5, R14), allowing use of a 3pdt swi...

Re: Seppuku FX Space Fuzz [traced]
In the board layout, all the voltage comes through that 100r--the +9v point on the schematic is after that resistor.

Re: devi ever IMPROBABILITY DRIVE [traced]
Sorry for the necro-bump, but does anyone still have the schematic for this? Links are dead. Thanks all. If you can work around the spammy image host (a pain but doable), I think this is the schematic Devi shared. http://postimg.org/image/tz19xn1qj/full/ Ken at Infanem is selling his final run of I...

Re: Rockett WTF Fuzz [traced]
Does the Boost knob and switch just trace out to being an alternate volume control? That's showing up a bunch lately, like the lead switch in the Tym J Mascis fuzz.

Re: Mountainking Electronics - Megalith [traced]
To clarify, the whine I experienced occurred at any setting when not playing guitar at that moment, and I believe is a power-supply only issue to see how others brought it up. (I avoid batteries, so didn't wire up a snap to test.) The current noise behavior with lower gain devices is fantastic for s...

Re: Mountainking Electronics - Megalith [traced]
Anyone have a working notion of gains in the original transistors? I had the dreaded squeal that about half the people who built reported at tagboardeffects, even after upping the filtering and putting a resistor in line to the DC jack. I backed off the original bc337/2n5088 complement, all above 35...

Re: EHX Pitch Fork
You can get 11-detent Alphas from Small Bear and Mouser. Which is relevant to my question: Anyone verified a preset switching scheme mod for the Pitch Fork yet like for the Micro Pog? Word is that T1M is already offering that one, so it's definitely doable. I could probably guess from the Tagboard E...

What to stock at Futurlec? (That's not at Tayda)
I need to get a bunch of LDRs for projects, so I'm trying to see what else I should stock to justify my order. I normally do Tayda for my stock-ups, and I know a couple holes in their inventory, like 741s.
Anybody noticed other handy parts to have that Futurlec has that Tayda doesn't?
