Update: So, for the record, the original P-2356 transistors in my BG-1 measured 281 and 304 Hfe. They are NPN silicon.

Looks like Mozz's small green dot ones are the ones I need.

Update: Well, I found a local guy who was willing to fix my thumping Twister - Laurie at www.dingotone.com
He found that a trim pot was out of whack. (I guess the previous owner had fooled with it ) So, It's a great sounding phaser again! All is well!

Here's some quick wiring shots. BTW, if the cap by the yellow wire is C3 - it's 222K. See my earlier post. I'm not a DIY'er. I can wire pots and switches, but that's it. I don't see any markings on the sides ( I didn't remove them from the box though) They're CTS pots with 1980 and 81? dates. Rate is shown first and then intensity.
