Re: Zorg Effects - Glorious Basstar - Multiband od (for bass

Thanks for posting the info on your pedal.

It looks like a really interesting design (as all your pedals do).

Thanks dude 8)

Re: Generic I/O board for pedals, with bistable relay [documentation]

Is there any particular reason why you guys are interested in a PIC based implementation? Or is it just personal preference? I am asking out of genuine curiosity, as Atmel stuff is becoming more and more popular (thanks to Arduino I guess) and I was looking to start experimenting with programming ag...

Re: Catalinbread - Merkin Fuzz [traced]

A really simple mod would be to try increasing the 4n7 cap on the collector of Q2 (blaniks schematic page 2). I put a switch to go between a 10n in parallel and a 22n in parallel with the 4n7, and it gives a bit more 'oomph' (read bass) to the fuzz tone. This would help reduce the 'stabbiness' some ...

Re: earthquaker devices monarch [gut shot]

I built up my vero of it and it sounds great. the only thing is, is that it seems to have less gain than the video demos that I've seen. otherwise it's awesome. if I can find a way to up the drive/dirt, it'll be perfect. I had one for a while and I noticed the same thing. The gain did seem lower th...

Re: Jack Deville - Dark Echo [traced]

That is one neat little LFO circuit there. Could the modulation integration method be similar to that used on the Echo Base (transistor based, no optocoupler)? See here: http://musicpcb.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Echo-Base-build-PDF-updated-051810.pdf Also, Jack Devilles PCB layout is a work of ...

Re: Way Huge - Fat Sandwich [traced]

Thanks for the schematic guys.

Interesting circuit with a lot going on; 3 stages of clipping/distortion etc.

Is there a reason for the CD4049 inverter stages stacked in parallel, more gain?

Re: D*A*M - Greasebox GB-83 [traced]

I have uploaded a schematic based on the vero layout and information on this thread.

It includes a Trimmer (500K) from Q1 Base to Ground as recommended earlier.

If anyone gets a chance to have a quick look over it let me know if it looks ok.

Cheers.

Re: FR-70 Fuzzrong [traced]

Sorry dude I should have clarified; swap the 220K on the original schematic (Q1 Base and Collector) to a 1M pot wired as variable resistor. I tried a 1M fixed resistor in this position and it also sounded great, but was a little bit too 'splatty'. Might make a cool texture/bias control along with th...

Re: FR-70 Fuzzrong [traced]

Thanks for that schematic Beedotman. I built this up on the breadboard last night and it sounded great. Fantastic sound for such a simple unit (as with most D*A*M stuff). As suggested, I used an 2N2222A for Q1 and 2N4401 for Q2. The only mod I made to the circuit was swapping the 220K On Q1's Base+C...

That board layout is super neat. I like all the little symbols etc. on the PCB too.

Looks like the designer puts a bit of thought and care into his designs :thumbsup

Re: Subdecay - Prometheus

Just got one of these new in a good deal, and I can't wait to play with it! I kind of like the idea of building my own State Variable Filter with just Freq, Res and BP/LP/HP controls; no LFO or Env detector etc. This is with the intention of also processing loops etc as well as my guitar. Would this...
