Re: Analogman - King of Tone [traced]
Mike builds great stuff, and the KOT is just one of many pedals that they sell so I'm sure they keep real busy. But it's absurd that he can't deal with the demand for these after all this time -- it's obvious he prefers it this way. Hire some more people or something, it's not that difficult. The on...

Re: Lovetone Flange With No Name [traced]
I built one with an MN3102 and 3207. The thing on the right is a transformer. I used one of the little Mouser ones, don't remember now which, but I can dig it out if anyone cares. I defer to mictester's knowledge, he knows way more about EE theory than I, however I built it with a trafo and it work...

Re: BJF - Honey Bee Overdrive degooped [traced]
I've owned a couple of Honey Bees & I thought they were pretty cool but they all seemed a bit congested in the low-mids. It worked better with some amps that others. From the clips I've heard, the new Mad Professor Sweet Honey overdrive seems to have corrected some of the things I didn't like ab...

Can't believe they get $200 for that pedal, it has the recent production DSI OC81D in it, which are available cheap.

Re: Analogman - King of Tone [traced]
My build of this pedal was rather bright as well. I've owned some real KOTs and compared to them, the clone was so bright that I have the internal tone pot pot turned almost all the way down... this sounds much better than using the external control to dial out the top end IMO. Also the gain feels d...

Re: Way Huge - Aqua-Puss [traced]
When I had a real Aqua Puss I pretty much only ran it with a 9v PS, never with a battery, as they use batteries pretty quickly and I think they sound better with a power supply anyway. I never ran mine over 9v. If you search around the net there are lots of wiring diagrams for typical stompbox conne...

Re: EH - Germanium OD [schematic]
This thing sounds kinda good to me, at least this demo:
I like the edge it has. No doubt it can sound shitty too but then so can most pedals.

Re: BJF - Honey Bee Overdrive degooped [traced]
That was one thing I didn't like about the HB, I wanted it to have more output so I could run the dirt knob a little lower. It's a pedal that kind kind of get lost if you are playing in a band situation, unless you are running at amp with tons of headroom like a twin or 100w Marshall. They work grea...

Re: New D*A*M Fuzz..
Dave's a good guy... what I meant by that remark is that he is profiting from the scarcity of his product more than Mike is - Mike could easily charge more for his back ordered models. In both cases keeping the supply much lower than the demand doesn't seem to be an accident, but Dave capitalizes on...

Re: Jacques Stompboxes - Mercer Box [traced]
Thanks much devastator for that simplified schematic, that's much easier to look at for a semi-ignorant guy like me. BTW, I bought another one of these because the switch is starting to fail on the first one that I got. The pedal still works great, you just have to fuck around with the switch to get...

Re: BJF - Honey Bee Overdrive degooped [traced]
Yeah, it is kind of three zones... to the left is bass-heavy and thick, around 12 o'clock, the bass is less and there is some treble presence retained, then as you continue to turn it to the right, it starts to roll of the highs a bit, making the sound more mid-rangey, a little like a tubescreamer. ...

Re: Ace Tone - FM-3 ??? [schematic]
Greg, could you post some gutshots of yours? All the previous photo links in these thread seem to be dead and gone. That's one of my pet peeves about a lot of the DIY pedals forums -- tons of dead links. I go searching for something, find it, and then there is no file anymore. It would be nice to h...
