Re: mxr carbon copy warp mod (runaway repeats)

The link isn't working but if the feedback loop in the carbon copy is standard, which I suspect it is, connecting to ground could kill the repeats entirely. You would probably want to connect the wiper of the pot to whichever outside lug is not connected to ground. I don't have a carbon copy anymor...

That's a seriously sweet etch job.

Only thing is, I can't find the flux capacitor in your schematic :D

Sadly, I'm very familiar with the process to follow to fry a PT chip

Re: Invading Cannibal Ladybird - Fuzz/Distortion/Delay/Synth

That looks awesome... might try this next weekend!

Quick question... how crucial is the voltage regulator? I don't really have any of those on hand. Do you think it's OK to leave out as long as I make sure to step down the voltage to 5V for the PT chip?

Re: THING-A-MA-BOB (xtreme easy nintendofuzz with soundsampl

It's hard to say without knowing how you wired it up for bypass. Have you already put this in a grounded enclosure? That might help.

If you want to put up some pictures of what you did that would be helpful also.

Thx CJ, will give it a shot today when I get home. Also I'm assuming the board hasn't changed, but will check against my Prometheus out of curiosity.

@Brian M thanks for the input, I LOVE THIS PEDAL (have a black one).

@CJ, at what settings did you get that phaser sound?

Isn't that what happened to the Foxrox TZF too? Too complicated to keep in production?

Re: Skreddy says: "Caps matter!"

Then what does the 'difference' sound like? I guess this is what I'm after as well. What does 10nF of ceramic capacitance sound like? And how is it different sonically from 10nF of polyester capacitance ? And can I mix the two and get a third different sound? How would you mix them - two ...

Re: Best Mods for a Black Russian Big Muff?

The Black Big muff is a great sounding circuit on it's own. If you think it sounds like "crap" then maybe you just don't like muffs. The biggest thing you can do to alter the sound is decrease the values of the two caps in the feedback loops that are in series with the diodes. You can als...

Re: Best Mods for a Black Russian Big Muff?

Thanks all for the responses. Mine's already true-bypass (did they ever come like that standard?) I'm definitely going to add a jack, but I'm pretty certain I can figure that out without instructions :-) As far as my particular problem with it, I find it's just entirely too muddy unless the tone is ...

Best Mods for a Black Russian Big Muff?

I have one. I don't quite care for its sound right now and would love to make it stop sounding like crap. Anyone have any favorite modifications / component replacements they'd like to share? Obviously there's a ton of room in the enclosure so I was thinking about adding a clean blend and maybe mome...
