Re: Suhr Reactive Load [schematic]

Just for interest, A friend and I did a shoot out with two loads, one a purely resistive and the other " reactive " reamping the same signal through a Marshall and recording it , running through an ADA speaker sim to test how the load affected the amp transformer ................ not a dramatic diff...

Re: Whisper of Screams (Kasha OD Pedal Trace) [traced]

I haven't built this yet, [ but will ] but here a blurb apparently from a reverb listing quoting PG Super rare and out of production! This pedal does what it promises... super transparent and powerful OD. So many OD options with one pedal. Great shape and fully functional. 3M Tape on bottom. From PG...

Looks great, straight forward thanks, you weren't tempted to put a second stage volume [ master ] at the end ?

Re: Danelectro - 9100 Tube Reverb Box [schematic]

Curious [ or cheap ] they don't use a transformer to drive the spring like fender does, so it'd be a little easier to throw together
I'm still not tempted.

Re: Stereo overdrive

pick up a couple of low cost overdrives and experiment first, sounds like a fun try , may not be earth shattering though
you might be able to get away with a Y cable to split to the inputs, if problem may need a buffer, Have Fun!

He's got that " common man " vibe and not afraid to look foolish [ I think or maybe he is ] probably appeals to the anti voodoo mojo expert I know, you don't know types.

Right , if it's free, it's for me ! as in I'm not going out of my way to over pay for expensive caps and my opinion [ perceptions ] is the only thing it costs me so if it makes one feel better because it looks more orange let em have their place & peace it's not hurting you. and some things are reas...

Re: How to improve tube amplifier tone by changing one part

I don't mind a little mojo voodoo, as long as I'm not getting ripped off for it, but where there is money/value there will be judgment Is this worth it ? is it 20.00 better ? am I smarter than the average guy [ my mom said I was special ] and there is always the "Emperor's new clothes " factor where...

Re: How to improve tube amplifier tone by changing one part

I think any " comparisons " best be done one component at at time and all other conditions equal , all settings the same , so a couple of varying performances recorded and played into the electronics in question , and then the result also recorded, level matching is usually important but if nothing ...

Re: Need help finding JMP-1 transformer

It seems a problem with those preamps that the transformers emit a fairly loud " acoustical " hum when they on, so you could do better!

Re: Hudson Electronics Broadcast - AP

The knobs suggest a Neve console module , whether that is designed to make you think that, I don't know
[ class A circuit running on single end 30 v like the 1073 pre/ eq module ]
also I thought I heard /read this and it being an OEP transformer, input or output or as an inductor ?

Re: Hudson Electronics Broadcast - AP

Bogner used some but I was wondering what took so long for builders to start using signal transformers , if only for a gimmick In this case emulating a recording console [ and it's overload ] , you'd think an amp transformer would be an obvious try ? Anyone know which model OEP transformer is used h...
