Re: Fulltone - OCD [traced]
Is it possible that R29 and R35 are not 27k, but maybe 2.7k or 270 ohms? I mean.. Give us GAIN! I've lost track - I'm not sure if you want to know what the circuit (as traced) is actually doing or if you want to modify it for more gain. If you want an always on boost mod, then yes you could drop R2...

I say keep it as is. It's an interesting design, why make it ordinary?

Re: Bogner - Harlow Compressor (gut shots) [traced]
Budget LCR meters are not good at dealing with inductors that have any sort of resistance involved. They calculate the inductance by running a frequency into a known resistance and measuring the voltage drop (as if it is a pure LR filter). If the circuit is actually a L+R, we get larger voltage drop...

... The nasty, distorted sound occurs the whole time, it's not gating at all. But maybe i have done something wrong - however, i will rebuild it again asap, in the next days i will be too busy to get it done, but i will let you know, if it worked. PS: I already swapped the jfet several times with n...

Re: BAJA Korg CX3 Rotary Effect [documentation]
OK, tried isolating the grounds of the 4046's with resistors up to 1K, upping the lopass filters of the power, and a few other things. No sucess yet. I heard some demos that someone made and posted in this thread, and it seems to be working well for the poster. And I guess for Bajaman too. So, what...

Re: BAJA Korg CX3 Rotary Effect [documentation]
Hey Maximus. Noise is probably going from the digital section to the analog section through power supply and ground. Its tough when breadboarding, but try to isolate the digital from the analog section, then join the two grounds at one point only.

Re: Simple noise gate [documentation]
I can think of 3 reasons you might get nasty fuzzy sound: 1) you need to select a different JFET that will turn fully OFF and fully ON at the right gate voltage (gate referring to the gate pin of the JFET). 2) too much gain in the op-amp and transistor part of the circuit. Double check gain setting ...

Hey Toxonic, Welcome to the forum!
Please clarify your problem:
Is it nasty when your signal is low and you would expect the pedal to mute the signal?

Re: Fulltone - Fulldrive 2 - Mosfet [traced]
Cool. Now the Chinese can make more clones to sell on Reverb. Anyone else notice that Reverb banned Fulltone for violating political correctness by arguing that the Minneapolis police shouldn't have let their precinct burn, then fully feature the Warm Audio ODD (Fulltone OCD clone). I've heard from ...

That thing is dope. If it works, you should just play it and not risk breaking a wire off or whatever.

Re: Looking for advice: Wiring the grounds on an isolated DC/DC converter [SOLVED]
Having separate grounds is highly useful. Here are two examples of utilizing the isolation feature of a isolated DC-DC converter. 1) USB powered box that plugs into audio interface. Computer ground will be connected twice cause noise. Once through the USB power ground, and the second time when you c...

Re: Need help with peavey bandit 112 volume problem
I agree with Carter on this. In my experience as an amp tech, cleaning pots with contact cleaner can end the life of a pot. I don't exactly even know the best method to clean pots. In the past it was such a better idea to just replace them. Peavey pots can be hard to find though, or even just be exp...

Re: Looking for advice on wiring an isolated DC/DC converter [SOLVED]
I would keep them separate. It will eliminate the chance of ground loops if using a daisy chain style power supply. Or if, for some reason, you we're to power it from USB-C. I haven't used the Traco yet. C3 is interesting. Maybe some very smart person could explain that. I may try it on the DC-DC co...

Re: Diezel VH4- Channel 3 Preamp Idea
The 680k/47k voltage divider gives you roughly FX send level. I prefer just a touch more level. I shoot for 700mV too 1Vpp. In my recommendation of a 1M dropper to 100k master volume, I am rolling that whole series of post tonestack attenuation into one attenuation that gives you a good FX send leve...

Re: Diezel VH4- Channel 3 Preamp Idea
Hey Leandro, I would recommend building it as-is up until the Tonestack, then instead of a 470k dropping resistor and a 470k master volume, do a 1M dropper and a 100k master volume. This will give you FX send level signal. Buffer this before sending it out 40 feet of cable, or directly connect this ...

Yeah man. Most importantly wind and test. Enough talk! I probably dont remember correctly anyway! The first ones I did used Strat magnets, sections of soda straw and nylon washers with 3/16" I.D. from the local ace hardware store. I know 3d printing has improved a lot in the recent years, but y...

Re: Question on DIY pickup winding. Single String/One Magnet.
I think two coils per string arranged in humbucker fashion is a good idea. Anything to get more wire/inductance. As long as you are going to install MIDI, you should just plan on damping each coil with a small resistance to get your preferred transient response, and then amplify the signal to suitab...

Re: Question on DIY pickup winding. Single String/One Magnet.
My apologies for not reading any of the chat gpt stuff. DC resistance is not the parameter you want to design for. In general, DC resistance correlates with output, but really it is the number of turns you get on that determines output. Not to mention frequency and transient response... 4k windings ...

Re: Stupidly Awesome Buffer [documentation]
Personally, I think 1M input impedance is good. Tubescreamers are 470k/510k depending. Most tube amps are 1M. My buddies who wire "direct to jack" and install a switch to mute are delusional, IMO, as it makes the pickup have way to much transient and the pickups get a "filter" li...
