Re: Shure Level Loc Compressor

Hi guys, I've continued to play around with the Level-Loc and wanted something that looked a bit nicer (and with a smaller board footprint). I love the metallic badges from classic Fender Rhodes piano and Tweed amps , so to give it an era-appropriate look, I decided to try making a PCB faceplate. I...

Re: Yes, another one about Boss SD-1 Buffer

Hi Happycat If you want to experiment, then do it. It' s just emitter follower. Just make sure you don't fry your pickups, your question sort of implies that risk... :) Thanks for the advise! I didn't think about it... Anyway, I'll go for a very known buffer, maybe the one used in the Klon (t...

Re: Yes, another one about Boss SD-1 Buffer

Thanks for such an useful info, guys! But, with all my respects... I never said that I don't like buffers, that I want to erase them or something like that... I'm only trying to test different things around this overdrive, only that... Only a first question... Starting from this schematic... https:/...

Re: Report Forum problems here

Ehm... i suppose that there is a reason for this issue, but i prefer to answer... I did post recently a topic... https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?p=267260#p267260 ... and, at least for me, it's not possible to post a reply... as I'm working on some ideas that maybe could be useful for ot...

Re: Yes, another one about Boss SD-1 Buffer

I really don't understand this obsession with removing buffers. They're there for a damn good reason: They provide impedance transformations and they protect the sensitive inner parts of a circuit from the outside world. It is important to understand - and fully appreciate - that a properly designe...

Yes, another one about Boss SD-1 Buffer

Hi guys! I have some love & hate relationship with the Boss SD-1, maybe because twenty years ago it was my first 'serious' pedal... I have several units, from several years, some of them modded and others remain stock,... About Boss' buffer, I've never had a trouble or complain about it. But, on...

Re: Mojo Hand Fx Rook

In this other picture, IC is not sanded at all... It's a low-quality photo, so it's not possible to read it perfectly, but it seems a JRC 4558D, doesn't it?

Re: Mojo Hand Fx Rook

Up with this one, after more than a pair of years! :applause: It would be nice to find some schematic of the Rook, at least we know is a TS-inspired-pedal with a Baxandall EQ. Here a photo of the PCB (not mine), but impossible to read the capacitors values... But resistors and clipping ideas are the...

Re: Hiss in Tone Bender...

Well, I solved the trouble a bit increasing the value of the base to ground resistor in Q1. But I have to try a pair of things yet! Thanks, guys! By the way, about the 100k resistor between Q2-Q3... If a use a lower than 100k resistor, I get a cleaner, less fuzzy sound. Interesting, but I think that...

Re: Hiss in Tone Bender...

Thanks a lot, Dr.! I'll try the trick of the 100k resistor of that post. About the 47k resistor, I mounted a 100k pot instead, so I'll go for a 33k value. Do you find the voltages as good? The high Q1 collector seems strange, but I didn't find any bridge to -9v rail supply.

Hiss in Tone Bender...

Well, I've just finished a TB, and I'm suffering a pair of troubles that are getting me crazy. It's a TB MKii, with a DPDT switch to change between MK1.5 and MKII modes. The wiring of the switch is verified, and I tested in other buildings succesfully. I followed the well-known schematic for the OC7...

Re: "Little Angel" - Super Simple PT2399 Mini Chorus [documentation]

I was searching for a simple chorus, and this pedal is what I wanted! Thanks! Only a question... Any mod to get a stereo output? Maybe is a stupid question, sorry
