Re: Mythos Golden Fleece
I really like my Mythos Golden Fleece and have just discovered that the Mythos High Road is exactly the same circuit, only with Bat41 diodes. So I'll give those a try as well. The Mythos Au79 also seems to be the based on the Golden Fleece, but with different values and a different diode pair. Anyon...

Re: Way Huge - Aqua-Puss [traced]
Guys, help me out here for a sec... I'm trying to calibrate an aqua puss I just built, but get readings ranging between 50-140kHz on pin 4 of the MN3101(depending on where I set the delay knob), instead of the expected 6,8kHz. As this is about 10 times higher than what it is supposed to be, my guess...

I'm trying to understand how the red gain control works. I just don't see how the red gain would be at minimum level in the center position. Can someone explain this to me please?

Not necessarily. Take the Big Cheese for example, which includes an opamp buffer driving a fuzz face. Many people like the sound of that one.buffered output into fuzz = also bad

Wanted: Abfackeln's Aqua Puss board
Anyone got one left? I don't really care which version. I have a Roadrage enclosure left that's just screaming for one. I'm aware of the new group buy of Madbean's version (which looks great too!), but the pot placement on Abfackeln's board just seems to suit the Roadrage enclosure better .

Re: Crowther Audio - Hot Cake Overdrive [traced]
How substantial is the difference between the 1977 and 2003 actually? I used to have a 2003 version (until it got stolen), so I know pretty well how that one sounds. I read somewhere that the "2003 is a very glassy fender sounding to my ears - 1977 is much more Marshall smooth sounding (less ed...

Re: stompbox wiring... messy vs. neat
Interesting. When I think of spaghetti wiring, I actually think of exessively long wires, not "the shortest way"...

@ danielzink: Is that a decal? I haven' t done anything with the RR enclosure yet, as the top has a certain structure... Does the decal hold on to this surface well or did you sand the surface? Did you apply a clearcoat? I'm having some doubts as to what I'll do as I kinda like the uneven surface.

Somehow, I've always been fascinated by the Hotbox, although I've never played/heard one. How do you like the sound? Can you give a short review? To what does it compare tone-wise?

I've ordered some in the past. They look really good and the finish is great (holes line up etc...) It's a tight fit though

I personally haven't had any problems with Banzai (up to now I have placed +/-20 orders with them). I placed my last order on Friday and received everything today (Monday)... can't complain about that!

what an inefficient use of space... whatever circuit is in there, I'm sure we could make a layout to fit it in a 1590B type enclosure

I must say I like the looks of that pedal. I've been considering to give metal stamping a try as well. Is it as easy as it looks or can you teach us what you have learned when doing it?

So far, 2 different types of opamps have been mentioned: LF353N and OP275. Which one is actually verified?
